Everything is ruined...
If the battery indicator on the trolling motor says you have juice in the battery but the prop isn't turning when you touch the pedal, it could be that the circuit in the pedal itself is fried. I left my first 2 pedals hooked up and in the boat overnight before, forgot to cover the boat, and a rainstorm fried them. I don't know if this is still the case, but my old Powerdrive pedal had the speed scroll dial on the right hand side. Try turning your pedal to continuous run mode and see if the prop starts to spin. It could just be the manual foot button on the pedal has quit working (as in my case).

Everything is ruined...
If you have a Power Drive trolling motor, it could just be your foot pedal. I used to have one and the digital pedal that it comes with always crapped out. Had to replace it at least 3 times.

Ike's a goof but that persona has made his brand one of the biggest in the game.

Most difficult techniques?
I find the slow, almost do-nothing type techniques to be the most difficult (dead sticking senkos, dragging the ball & chain, drop shotting, etc). Not that they're actually difficult to do, I just don't have the patience for them.

Those clips look almost identical to the ones that come attached to the cheap tags included in the Rapala touch screen tournament scale. They are the best I've used! I just attached them to my Ardent balls. My guess, is those will work pretty well. We'll need a report soon.

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
You're kinda elevating this to preposterous levels. These are the sort of comments that shut down debate. The whole point of my argument is this: if you've never been in that particular situation, there's no way you can say "I wouldn't have reacted that way and would've just moved on." I agree B Lat could've handled it better than he did but I also understand how the frustration could boil over. Don't believe I ever said anything about entitlement. I don't believe anyone is entitled to anything. I won't re-hash my points as I feel I've done it enough. Everyone's stance on this subject is likely based on a specific personal experience he/she has had on the water. Fair enough. I've been on both sides of this and have seen both parties do the wrong thing. Conflicts are a part of life, unfortunately. We could all benefit from a courtesy upgrade.

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
If I was fishing a major tournament for 3 days straight in that spot, had the lead going into the final day, and that guy was there on day 4...I wouldn't just move along. I would explain the situation and politely ask to at lease share the spot. Does he have to give it to me? Of course not. But why not? That seems like a nice thing to do, given the circumstances and the fact that it's one day. I don't think anyone is debating whether or not that's true or false. It's the matter of: why not let a guy who's invested a lot into trying to make a career for himself have a spot for a day? Obviously, nobody HAS to give way to anyone, tournament or not. That's not the point. I just don't think it's so unreasonable to oblige under these circumstances. And again, sentiment coming from someone not put in that particular position.

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
Not trying to "fish" measure here, man. I know plenty of non-tournament anglers that know how to catch bass and plenty of tournament anglers that don't. That's not the point. I'm just saying that it's easy for those NOT in Latimer's position to dismiss his frustration with the scenario. Would you not be salty if some other boat, who was more than likely following the tournament and knew where you leading on the final day, hung around your primary spot, then jumped on it when you left to check another area? I mean, it's not like the win would be life changing for you and your family or anything...To me, everyone saying "it's public water and I have the right to fish anywhere I want" sound an awful lot like the guys saying "I've been fishing this spot for 4 days straight so take a hike." Maybe both parties could benefit from a little more courtesy on water.

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
My guess is most of these comments are coming from guys who don't fish tournaments.

Looking for 7'6" Med/Mod spinning rod.
Not sure of the taper and it's ML not med but it's the right length. I know the Muse line was meant to be walleye specific but I've heard 13's run a bit on the stiffer side so it may work for you. Oh, never used a Denali rod, so can't help there. https://www.scheels.com/p/***-muse-gold-spinning-rod/859915-MGS63ML.html?cgid=fishing#start=13

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I posted the deal on the BR Sale thread. Everything on the site was 50% off! Paid $1.75 for swim jigs, $2.00 for the 3/4 oz flipping/casting jigs, and like $0.50 - $0.65 each for the swing heads. I might, haha. Flippin the big jig is my jam man!

Some junk bought within the last couple months. TW Black Friday sale, Academy online clearance, and Bayou Bug Jig sale. Also got a bunch of Trilene Fluoro. I'm thinking a new Levante and Tatula 100 are in my near future...

KISTLER ROD BROKE
From my perspective, a broken rod will never be the same, even if you use an external sleeve to re-connect (which I know nothing about, but would never do anyway). If it worked for you, I'm sure it will work for others. I just wouldn't have confidence that it would perform like it did before. As far as I'm concerned, that is/will always be a weak point in the rod.

KISTLER ROD BROKE
I don't know if I'd waste the effort and money trying to replace the tip. Once you do that, the rod just isn't the same, period. Definitely need to call Trey. I've talked to him on the phone before. Super nice guy. While I don't believe their warranty will give you a replacement, Trey might give you a discount on a new rod. Worth asking.

Pros purposefully misleading about their sponsors baits?
Not me. I almost never have one tied on. I've never even bought a bag of Yamas!

Pros purposefully misleading about their sponsors baits?
Not really. I just assume they're only throwing Yamamoto senkos 99.9% of the time anyway.

Aftco proteus vs hydronaut
Im not sure either but if it makes you feel better, I haven'f found any extra cuff protection to do all that much. If you're casting all day in the rain, your sleeves are eventually gonna get wet.

Aftco proteus vs hydronaut
Honestly, what you want doesn't really exist. If it's really comfortable in the summer, it won't keep you warm in the cold months without substantial layering. As far as these 2 suits go, they're really new so I doubt many people have them and/or have put them through thorough testing. With that being said, based solely on their specs, I'd go with the Proteus. They both have the same waterproof rating at 20k but the Proteus has the 3-layer construction which means it will be more breathable in the warmer weather.

Rain gear /cold weather gear
I spent countless hours researching new rain gear over the last 12 months. My advice is to really scour the net. You can find some great deals if you put the time in. You shouldn't have too difficult of a time piecing together a 3-layer rain suit for around $300. Believe me, you really want a 3-layer suit. If you get wet when it's below 50, your day is done. While I don't have personal experience with most of these, the specs are good and within your price range: https://www.carhartt.com/products/carhartt-clearance/Force-Extremes-Shoreline-Angler-Bib-Overall-OUT-102380 https://www.carhartt.com/products/carhartt-clearance/Force-Extremes-Shoreline-Angler-Jacket-OUT-102407 https://www.sierra.com/grundens-dark-and-stormy-fishing-bib-overalls-waterproof-for-men-and-big-men~p~650kw/?filterString=s~grundens%2F#reviewsSection https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-FROGGTOGG.html?from=basres

What would you change?
I wouldn't ban graphs. I like mine. I don't like how easy it is for competing anglers get waypoints (yes even with the no info rules, some do) but that comes with the territory. What I think is getting out of hand is self propelled trolling motors. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have one, I just think they're excessive for competition. That's a big reason I like the original MLF. Everyone competes out of the same boat basically. 150hp, fortrex, power poles, and 2 hds 9s. Well equipped and half the cost of their normal rigs.
-
What would you change?
ABA just started a 150HP and under team tour which I'm a huge fan of (only available down south of course). I think limiting horsepower would make tournament fishing quite a bit more accessible to a larger group of anglers. More affordable and nobody would have to compete against 80K boats. Yes, I know, the boat doesn't catch the fish, but it can a huge advantage way more often than not. I'm also a big fan of reducing the gadets on the boat. I think a lot of anglers nowadays forget (or just never had to experience it) how important boat control is and how difficult it can be your trolling motor doesn't run itself.
