Best Bass Boats
I purchased my 1st bass boat in 1974, it was a Ranger DTR-10. I have bought 2 boats since than, Both Ranger's. The latest 1 in 2002 I have never had the 1st problem with any of the 3. I mean not 1. They are not as fast as some but they are not in the shop when you could be fishing. If I were spending that kind of money the only choice I would be making is which Ranger do I want.

Need Help -- Boat problem
The water & oil alarms are in the console. I have a 150 xr6. If the horn sounds continuously it indicates the engine is over heating. Check the "P" hole to make sure you are pumping water. Your water pump impeller should be replaced every year. If you have not done that I would. If the horn sounds intermittent, short beeps you have low oil level in the oil system. Power heads are expensive so I would take to a dealer . I know on an EFI system the are more alarms & I don't know about them.

COLOR DEPTH FINDERS
I have a Garmin 250c depthfinder interphased with a Garmin 2006c Chartplotter. It's great!! You can see color much better in the sun light. I just installed a Garmin 178c on the bow of my boat, to use with my trolling motor. It is a GPS/Depthfinder combo. What a tool when fishing drops or following old road beds, ditches or what ever. I was on a site that compared the different products and Garmin was rated very high. What ever brand you choose make sure it's color if you can afford to. It's much easier to see. If you can not afford color get a good unit & tape a visor ( piece of cardboard or anything like that) on the top to shade the screen, it will be easier to see.

No, I will not send you my stuff!
I thought you just unloaded it? What's up with this?

barometric pressure?
I am not so sure. High pressure mean clear skies & sun. Largemouth have no eyelids so depending how clear the water & how bright the sun is determines how deep or where they will go. You can bet it will be tight on some cover though. I don't think it's the pressure that makes them go deep because the deeper you go the higher the pressure. I think it's the sun. I guess it don't really matter what exactly makes them react to high & low preassure as long as you know they do it and you know what they do. This way you can adjust.

Electrical problem with FF & Trolling motor
You either have a loose connection, dirty battery or a bad battery. Check your battery connection 1st. If your using the wing nuts they will work loose. Clean your battery with a mild solution of baking soda & water. Rinse real good. Check any connections you might have between the battery & equipment. Go to the menu on your depth finder & turn the battery voltage on then use your trolling motor. If the voltage drops below 11 make sure you have water in your battery & charge it. If it does it again have your battery checked. If you are near a Wal-Mart they will do it. Hope this helps.

Bass Cat and Stratos boats.
Looks don't cut it if you get caught in a storm!

Autographs
And what were they rated?

Gas consumption
The more boat you get out of the water the less drag you have. When this happens you get better fuel consumption. So it depends on your boat, HP of the engine, & pitch of your prop. Each rig will be different.

What type of Bass Boat?
I think squid runs a Ranger

Speaking of Gimmicks?!?
Maybe it was designed to fish buzzbaits.

Finding fish on deeper structure.
I assume that you are fishing a larger body of water & have a depth finder. If it'a big lake you should have a GPS also. Get a good map of the lake. With that & your depth finder start looking for points, humps, depressions, old road beds ect. Once you find one mark it on your GPS & fish a carolina rig weather you mark fish or not. Use a couple of different size leaders before leaving. If you catch no fish go back to it 4 or 5 times. Go back to it at different times of the year also.

incorrect depth on sonar
Basstronaut- Where is your x-ducer located? It's sounds like when you running your x-ducer is in the turbulence from your boat.

Bass Boat Trailer Glides
I have a Ranger 185vs & the dealer told me not to use the rollers. That it could warp the bottom because of the weight distribution.

Just one change...
I am with J.T. I have to clean out the boat I've lost 5mph. I got rid of the kitchen sink yesterday. When that is done I am going to follow R.W. lead & fish tubes & jigs until I get it right.

incorrect depth on sonar
If it were a bad installation or Interference it would most likely do it all the time. It's working in shallow water.

Mounting transducer on trolling motor w/o kit
Depending on the type of x-ducer a 3" hose clamp might work. Expoxy the hose clamp to the top x-duced. Fasten the hose clamp aronnd the trolling motor. By the time you get done with all that you can buy a bracket for under $20. I think I saw one at West Marine for $11 & change. If you just got your depth finder & have not used your x-ducer most companies will trade you out if they make a trolling motor x-ducer. I know Garmin will.

Food On The Water?
When do you-all fish? Looks to me like your to busy eating. I bring coffee to spill in the morning because just as soon as I pour a cup I'll feel that tap, tap. Water for the rest of the day. Down here it gets to hot to eat during the day, you need lots of water.

incorrect depth on sonar
Go to the adjustment menu & change the range to auto.

Trolling motor transducer mounts
I assume the trolling motor is going to be the only motor on the boat. If it were me I would put it on the front of the boat. It's easier to control the boat while fishing. You can buy brackets that are made to mount X-ducers to trolling motors. Most of the depthfinders now have a trolling motor x-ducer that comes ready to mount. You can call them & most will swap out the one that came with the unit for the trolling motor one. Hope this helped. Oops, you should no interference on either end of the boat.
