  3. The Rod & the way you use it is just fine. It's the set up I use for my bottom fishing, It works great. Why spend more money?
  4. I have 3 of the CH-101- D7's. I have never had a problem with them & do not plan to replace them with something newer. Why change something that is not broke.
  5. Thank You J Francho. I was about to quit & saw your post & will try that.
  6. I have 3 743C FH with Shimano Scorpion 71 XG's on them. These are excellent rods & have good sensitivity. You can not go wrong with that rod
  7. I would keep what you have.
  8. Catt said Everywhere I fish has Hydrilla, Coontail, Milfoil, lily pads, water hyacinth, reeds, brush, timber, Cypress trees, ect. I highly doubt any bass can pick my line out of that mess. I fish the same Heavy stuff & have no idea if a fish cane see the line in that stuff. My point was why sit around with a sharpie to color your line, when you can get a spool that has it done for you.

  12. The last time I spoke with Brice they were short on help & looking to hire more.
  13. I agree on a JDM Bantam. I just received another one For $217 to my door in 4 days by FedEx.
  14. I too do not add anything to a spinnerbait.
  15. I fish a Spinnerbait year round. It depends on water temperature on what cover i fish.
  16. After reading your post your asking about big worms & big fish so I'll mention 2 things. My set up is a Champion Dobyns XP DC 736 C F/H with a Shimano 22 Bantam XG For Big Worms It's Gambler ER 16 inch soft plastic worms. Fished on a Carolina rig with the reel main line is spooled with 20 lb Samurai hidden concept & with the leader of Gamma Copolymer 12 to 14 lb depending on cover. Using a 3/16 oz weight & a Owner oversized 11/0 worm hook. I also fish it weightless using 20 lb Gamma 20 lb line & the same hook. looks like a snake swimming. For Big fish I'll also fish a 7ich no bull frog with the same set up but with 30 lb Gamma Copolymer line.
  17. You would do better using a heavy power rod. I use A heavy power Dobyns Champion XP DC 736C F/H It's a 6 power Rod,but also takes timing. Once you get the hang of it landing 80% of them is a real good day.
  18. Dobyns Champion XP DC 735C FH open water. Dobyns Champion XP DC 736C FH Heavy Cover These Rods are well balanced & have the power to get them to the boat.
  19. I agree with GReb on this 4 power is weak for frogging. The Dobyns XP DC 736 FH is a excellent rod for frogging & is a 6 power.

  21. Seeing your in Maine I am guessing the Water Temperature has not warmed up enough yet for those spots yet. Knowing that the shallow water will get the warmest first that is where I would start. Go to the side that the sun has been shinning on the longest cast your bait up on the bank & bring into the water quietly & let it sit a bit don't want to scare your pray (dead sticking). Remember the water temperature is the magic. The bait moves to the magic & the predator will follow. Tight lines!
  22. To me it depends the time of year. From mid February into early June I like to fish a weightless Gambler 13 inch ribbon tail worm or their ER 16 inch soft worm. As the water warms I will mix in a 3/16 No bullfrog. The big girls like to eat too. The above baits work well in the hucklebuck. In June I start using more smaller baits on Carolina rigs & swim baits etc. One of the better ones is a 8 inch super floater on a Carolina rig. I guess my answer is I feel the chance of catching a bigger fish is greater during those months.
