I guess one of my goals should be not getting strangled!

Occasionally feel Bass biting but I never catch any
Your rod is not ideal for worm fishing. It is better suited to treble hook lures, IMHO. You might do better with braid and a leader if you are currently using mono. Good luck and hang in there. Time on the water is the best teacher, but reading helps a lot. Lots of good info on this site.

Fly tying station
I like a tying station for tying while watching sports on TV. I also have a desk dedicated to it. I saw a "tv tray" with a station attached that I may try to duplicate.

Senile1 Is Concerned About Senility
I am about your age and feel your pain. My Dad retired, immediately got sick, and stayed sick for 3 years until he died. There is a lot of data that many men literally die once they retire. I don't plan on fully retiring, but you never know what life will bring. Good luck. Pray for ***.

Graphite Vs Composite Rod
Simply put, when sensitivity is important, as with worms, use a graphite. When you need some give, as in cranking, and other treble hook baits, use composite.

Graphite Vs Composite Rod
Check the Lamiglass website. Great mH rod cheap! I also have enjoyed the Berkley lightening shocks. I have an Ugly stick I use for cranking sometimes. Maybe I am not too picky! I would also advise you look at St. Croix Mojo line of rods.

Favorite Way To Fish Ned Rig ?
I must be doing something wrong. I occasionally get a dink, but no real action on a Ned Rig. Maybe my water is too dirty. Maybe I fish it wrong. I so better with a finess texas rigged worm.
