  1. The software I have is 6.350.
  2. Yes to the install questions. The unit worked great for the first year. I normally use switch fire clear. I had in max mode the other day and it seemed to work better for a few hours. Yesterday's trip neither clear or max would work. If I was in 25-30' of water it would not work. As I trolled with trolling motor up on the point into about 10' it would work briefly. The model is a 798c si combo. The software I believe was 6.2. I will check and make sure on that.
  3. I have a side imaging transducer and a y cable running the xp-9. I normally fish 25' and less.
  4. I have a 798 si humminbird. The depth started messing up last summer. It will read 1.6 ft. Every now and then it will work fine. I contacted HB and they told me to put the settings on saltwater instead of freshwater. It still messed up just not as often. I fished at least once a week even through the winter months. During the winter months the depth never messed up. It has been working great until last week. It has now started showing 1.6 ft again. Any suggestions?
  5. The entire belly region was not yellow. Bad explanation. It was only from anus or vent to the tail. It looked more like a pee stain than anything. Maybe I scared it out of them.
  6. I went Fishing yesterday and caught quite a few bass that had a yellow stain on their bellies. It was the color of pee. Are these male bass that has been fertilizing eggs?
  7. I was down there this past weekend. It was my first time on the lake. Friday was difficult because the wind was brutal. Caught a bunch of small fish around grass edges with a rattle trap. Caught only 1 good fish flipping. Saturday was the most miserable day I have been in the water. It rained all day and it was only about 40 degrees. My rain suit leaked and I didn't have a dry stitch of clothing on my body. However, caught fish in the edges of grass on buzzbaits and spinnerbaits. Also caught fish around bridges that led to backwaters on a 6xd.

I started making my own jigs last year. I hand tie with thread. What are the advantages of using wire? What kind of wire? Best way to tie with wire? Thanks
  10. I am headed to Guntersville for a few days this week. I am putting in at waterfront park. Can anyone give me an idea of what phase the fish are in around this area? Is there any grass right now?
  11. How did your trip go?
  12. Have not been on the lake in a few weeks. The dam bite has been hot. Shoals creek goes for a long way. If I did go to shoals creek I would fish Tate slough (good spawning pocket) and Brush creek slough. Another option since you are putting in at Lock 6 Is to fish the first big creek on the North side of the lake as you are leaving the boat ramp. It is called six mile creek. After I checked there I would go up one more to the next big creek called 4 mile.
  13. The fish in the middle area of the lake are in spawn and postspawn from what I have witnessed. The fish in the tailraces appear to be just now starting the spawn. Which of these fish are affected the most by a cold front? What would your plan of attack be for each style?
  14. I probably did have the oil injection. It ran fine Saturday
  15. Good deal. Thanks I will be the mosquito repellent tomorrow then.
  16. I have a 1997 Mariner EFI 150 hp. I have used mercury synthetic blend oil mixed 50:1. It does not have its own mixer. I mix it my self. I was topping off my front tank and I put enough oil for 5 gallons of gas and it would only hold 4 gallons of gas. Will this make a difference in the performance? Will it cause any negative consequences? Thanks
  17. After it is baked on I Heat up a metal ice pick and slide through eye.
  18. I am fishing my first Flw BFL series as a coangler. I am excited. I have never fished any big tournaments before. We are fishing Pickwick out of JP Coleman. I have read all the articles about coangler etiquette. But I was wondering if any of you have any personal tips to add. Any tips from people that has done this before? Thanks

35 pound sack won yesterday out of Wilson. 29 lbs out of jp Coleman and 21 out of McFarland. Big fish being caught right now on Pickwick and Wilson
  20. I have been able to catch fish on Pickwick. Some great days here lately. My best 5 three weeks ago was 27.49. Anywhere from the horeshoe down to Waterloo. My main question is about Wilson. I fished Wilson Saturday and had 12 lbs with my best 5. 4 tournaments was out of safety harbor right below wheeler dam. There was a total of 8 sacks over 25 pounds of nothing but small mouth. 1 sack of 25 pounds on large mouth. It was unreal seeing that many beautiful small mouth. If you ever fish Wilson the majority of the year the bigger fish come from the tailrace below wheeler. I have avoided fishing up there because I don't really know where to start fishing current. Thanks for all the replies.
  21. Any tips? I know this is broad but I want to get better at fishing the tailraces on my local lake. Not sure in how to start
