  1. I bought these last year and they are all still in the original packaging, unopened. They wouldn't be bad for letting kids fish with though.
  2. I was thinking it would be good for maybe drop shotting or jerkbait fishing. So you could keep 1 hand warm in your pocket and the other reeling in slack; that's only because those are the only techniques i use when it's freezing cold out.
  3. i dont use a treble just because I'm afraid of losing the bait. That being said I did lose a fish that i was fighting for a couple of minutes. A treble might have helped. I have thought about putting some of those lure retriever split rings on with a treble.
  4. chuck woolery advertises those.
  5. you might want to look at the Okuma big bait series. http://www.***.com/descpageRDCOKUMA-OGSBBR.html I have teh 7'11 MH. It's loads up nice and has the long handle that you can put under your arm. It is going to also depend on what type of baits you intend to throw. I throw a lot of matt lures baby bass series(great swimbaits) and it performs great. I have a cardiff 301 paired with it. If that 7'6" is as stiff as a flippin stick, you'll probably have problems throwing these types of baits.
  6. shimano curado D 201 7:1 6' 6" st croix avid M crankbait model 1. yo zuri rattlnvibe 2. rapal xrap 3. rapala DT6 4. rapala DT4 5. probably a jig or something that has some soft parts
  7. I like the fact that i can actually cast mono out and not have it spring off the reel like supid fluoro does. Every single time i've tried to use fluoro, i have ended up with a bird's nest.
  8. I just checked the site and it appears that there is no longer free shipping. Or did i just miss something. I added a rod and did calculate shipping and it comes up 10.95.
  9. If you're thinking of changing hooks I would recommend the sureset hooks that rapala is putting on some of their baits. I've even put them on jerk baits and lipless cranks and have seen an increase on hooksets.
  10. Does anyone know if st.croix is getting rid of the current line of Avid and Legend rods. I've seen them on clearance at the tackle store.
  11. steal a hook off of another bait. It shouldn't make a difference in how it runs. I infact change at least one of the treble hooks on all cranks with a sureset. You should really try those if you havent'
  12. I don't fish the real "rat-l-trap" brand, but i do fish the Yo-zuri ratlnvibes(well worth teh 8 bucks). I replace only the front treble hook with a sureset hook. The thing rattles like crazy and contrary to theories i don't notice anymore snagging of grass than out of a normal treble hook. I used to replace both the backs and the fronts, but it got to a point where the back sureset hook was damaging the fish too much. I don't really think it matters because most of the fish that i catch are hooked on the front hook, like the fish is grabbing the first from the side and not chasing it straight from the back. I've actually started using this on all the lipless cranks i have. If you haven't tried these sureset hooks yet, you are really missing out. They have greatly increased my catches.
  13. to be honest, braid is great on spinning reels. But it really sucks on baitcasters.
  14. I've found that the red chip pretty easily, so i normally use the black.
  15. yo-zuri rattle-n-vibe....with sureset hooks
  16. It looks great. Do you have an idea of how much you'll be asking for these?
  17. YO-ZURI ratlnvibe - baby bass color(what color is still left on it that is)
  18. try some boga grips. they work great.
  19. i kinda figured that was the problem, i just don't know the details. The problem that i can see now is that the gas tank takes up most of the back compartment of the boat and it looks like that has to be removed to fix it. any ideas on that?
  20. I have a 02 tracker that is having problems with the livewell. It always empties out no matter what you have the switch set to. It is a cable driven switch and the settings are 'auto' and 'empty'. what happened was someone was playing with it and rotated a full 360 degrees. I had to turn it back the other way and try to straighten the cable out. But now it seems that it will not hold water in it. Please respond if anyone knows about this problem.
  21. Does anyone know if all soft plastics are recyclable? If not then which ones(if any) will be ok if if melt and remold. I use a lot of GYCB and zoom and would like to use these ones in particular.
  22. 1. DT-(4,6,7,10,16) 2. Boo-Yah spinnerbaits 3. GYCB senko 4. GYCB Fat Ika(thanks RoadWarrior for the posts on this one) 5. GYCB Creature bait 6. Rapala x-rap 7. yo-zuri RatlnVibe 8. SureSet hooks(I know this is not a bait but i would HIGHLY recommend changing all crankbait hooks out) 9. GYCB Hula Grub 10.power worm
  23. I find it hard to believe that i can pour plastics and get anywhere near what I am buying in a GYCB or even zoom baits. Also is pouring your own baits any cheaper, or do you end up spending about the same as buying baits off the shelf. I have no experience in this area, so any opinions would help.
