  2. UUhhggg.....ok....update...i sent in a sample to give Strike King proof that some of the Rage Baits didn't have any coffee scent at all and they were nice enough to send me 4 packs of Rage Lobsters back in the Falcon Craw color....the only bad thing was....yep....no scent in any of the 4 packs. Must have been a very large batch without the scent or something else went wrong....I have many other Rage baits that have the scent and it's very easy to smell so it's not like i don't know what i'm smelling but i still want the scent...and i'm sure it's included in the price somehow....you would have thought that someone would have checked them before shipping them out.
  3. I believe that's the right size but you might want to check with Daiwa on that. You can find almost any of the sizes you ever need to know about on Boca Bearings website and that size is on that list if that is for that particular bearing you are inquiring about.
  4. Love the Rage Craws, Lobsters and Rage Bugs.....the only issue i have had is that i had 5 different packs that did not have the coffee scent that was listed on the label.....(looks like one of the employees forgot to put the scent in the batch that i bought) I always had the coffee scent on all of the others i have used....i did send back a pack to strike king as an example of the error, smelled just like plastic only. Haven't heard back from them yet but i'm sure i will soon. It's been about a week....otherwise great baits.
  5. I'm with you on this one....been on this earth for over 53 years and have never seen the greed that is currently going on in this country.....I'm sure it is all about the money....
  6. How many of you guys have older boats that just keep on ticking? I have a 2005 Bass Tracker 175 with a 50HP Mercury on it and haven't had any issues whatsoever.....I do keep it in the garage during the winter but i still winterize it myself. Do any of you have an outboard that has lasted more than 20 years with it being used a lot every season? Just wondering...
  7. Anyone else change their handles on the Curado 70? I have 3 of the reels and love them but didn't like the small paddle handles. Changed all of them to the septon handle that is on most of their baitcasters. Now they are perfect! At least to me.
  8. Quantum is really upping the quality on the new Smoke S3 and the Tour S3. They have fixed their clutch issues with stainless steel kick levers and have also raised the thumbar up higher which was something that i prefer....Most of my reels are Shimano, Daiwa and Abu but i think i'm going to try either the new Smoke S3 you are talking about or the S3 Tour.
  9. You have to try the knipex mini bolt cutters....cuts the thickest hooks like scissors through paper. Not cheap for $50.00 but will last a lifetime. Always on my boat.
  10. I'm in Indiana and i'm sure i'm going to still be fishing with snow on the deck of my boat.....only when the water freezes will she be put up.....
  11. I think that is Kim Jong Un and he's showing us how he will cast his nuclear warheads at us. No wait a minute....that's not him....he's a lot fatter than that. My bad.
  12. I do! But what a waste of time....i'm going to fish instead of measuring fishing line. If i had a brand that was consistently failing maybe that would be cause for alarm but face it, most lines fail due to operator (fisherman) error. Either a bad knot or not retying enough in waters with rock, timber and zebra muscles.
  13. Just kind of the same squarebill videos we've seen before...not being a jerk but there are tons of them out there....and i'm like some of the other guys....i don't care for any music during the videos.....Just my opinion.
  14. This is it....never mind what everyone else said......A brand new Ranger Z522D Comanche with a 300 HP Mercury and 2 power poles. And if you get this for him i'm putting in a resume to work for you. Thanks for the lead on this tackle site J. I haven't seen it before and it looks like a great place to order from.
  15. I only use the trilene knot....not exaggerating when i say i can't remember the last time i lost a fish because of my knot.....just doesn't happen.....you have to make sure you wet the line before pulling it taut though......
  16. Fished Geist a few days ago.....caught 78 largemouth...in the first 1/2 hour......then i woke up from my nap.....No really went out there but only caught a few...biggest was 2.5lbs......seems like the fishing has slowed down......
  17. Super Glue on gears, Loctite Red on bearings and JB Weld on the worm gear. Can't figure out why i can only cast 6 inches.
  18. i'm with Dens.....50 or 65 lb braid in thick weeds....if that fish goes down in the weeds after you set the hook, you need to be able to winch him out and lighter braid might break.....
  19. You got a great deal....I believe that it is made by Ardent who makes Reel Butter and Reel Grease. I think that they just changed the color for Gander, that's why it is green. It's original price i think at Gander was about $5.00. It should be the same synthetic ingredients as the Ardent version. Good buy.
  20. kryptonite
  21. I use a 4/0 Gamakatsu Skip Gap Hook. Love those hooks....I pitch everything with those....keeps the bait lined up and doesn't slip....unless you get a hold of a monster and then you don't care anyway.
  22. Yeah....i just like the fact that they are thicker than most tubes....
  23. Just wondered how many guys and gals on here still might pitch tubes for largemouths.....i seem to have moved on to more creature baits for pitching but did break some out last week and did pretty good. I was using the Snack Daddy Elite Tubes. They are quad dipped so they are a little larger than most tubes as far as the thickness.
  24. Amen Glenn....i feel the same way....and for $5.99 or less on sale? Great deal....so soft yet so durable.
  25. Just wondered with all of the crazy colors that reels are coming in now if it really matters to you....i've always preferred darker colors (black, greys and some silvers) but now here comes the bright greens, oranges and whatever that seafoam color is....and does it matter to you if it matches the rod? Doesn't really matter to me but some of my buddies want things to match...
