  1. never heard of that, where is it? the chain is in winter haven florida ..it consist 2 sections.. a north chain and a south chain....it is 16 lakes total conected by canal systems.. some lakes at this time because of low water level is inpassible, the canals are dried up...
  2. yea im going to fish the south chain this weekend ..its warming up.. the water temp last weekend was 57 -59 were i was.. but i think it should be better ..now the only thing the news say its going to be windy again.. the wind is good at times but im tired off dealing with it and the cold

  8. excaliber xr-s make a pattern they call tilapia... i dont call them tilapia i call them nile perch
  9. it was definetly toward the end..
  10. try to match the hatch sometimes farm ponds dont have alot of shad and such ..sometimes they do... if they dont the bass eat what comes off the land such as frogs tadpoles, lizards and such.. it shouldnt be hard to dial them in..good luck
  11. sorry if this has been talked about before....i was fishing a club tourny that a guy had a fish jump in the boat..we held a meeting and decided a fish that jumps in the boat shouldnt count..at that time i never had that happen to me..but recently i had a bass jump in the boat while pre fishing it was around 16 inches..the wind got up and blew the boat against the weeds, there i guess i trapped the fish between the boat and grass ,and the fished jumpped in.. has anyone experienced this before, and do you think it should be a legal fish if your lucky enough to have this happen....thanks for your input
  12. i fish prop baits is the rain or ripple i just twitch pause the delvils hourse when it is calm i use rapala origanal floating minnow
  13. i like the xr50 and the xr25 .. but sometimes the bill lewis blue / chrome does the trick..
  14. send it to baitwerks dwain baity does good work..if you dont want to do that than i would suggest to scuff it a bit with a fine grit before you paint and clear
  15. i thought off asking this question but searched it so i didnt need to make a new thread.. the polyurthane turns white to gold and needs to cure for a while or your tackle box will smell like it for a year ..but i will admit it turned out half way decent .. one one off them i found that laying a peice of screen from a door or window makes a pattern like a locus 'THREAD JACK' WARNING....but I have to know how many pages back you had to go to resurrect this thread? It's nearly 5 years old ;D
  16. firetiger works for me in stained water , i like more natural colors in clear water.. electric chicken color works for crappie.. i try not to trow firetiger if i dont have to it seems gar fish is atracted to the color.. but they do catch bass so does the perch color made by rapala..
  17. i use a bullet ,bead, swivel then floro leader ,but if i want the bait to float more i use a thicker mono if line sight isnt important
  18. i try to look for deeper water closest to the shoreline with off shore vegitation then work my way out looking for bait fish..if it is thick grass i use a white spinner bait . if its medium thick i go lipless.. if it is sparse i use suspending rouge or a bagley diving banga lure.. if none of those work i start trying other stuff and drink coffee..
  19. i agree saw a show the other day fishin in disney, i know you guys did too with martin truex jr, and roland martin..its toatally off limits to the public unless you get a guide ..anybody can catch fish there.. the only thing i learned was martin truex qualifed for the pole for the daytona 500 ..lol.. which was the year before last
  20. the boat will be ok in small waterbody..if you just wanna learn stuff join a club ..if you just wanna be in competitive envirorment go with open tournaments you can find them in local newspapers or ask local tackle shops..there is no member fees like a club
  21. i thought off limits was out off bounds .. and practice was prefishing..i dont mind the out of bounds because sometimes it can be for safty reasons, such as low water level..as for practice and prefishing i think it should not be allowed three days before
  22. i would like to see no dead fish .. a dead fish brought to the scale be disqualified..dead fish should not count at all in a catch and release tournament..
  23. i have never used the lure..i prefere the rapala f-13 f-11 original floating minnow black and silver foil ive caught alot of fish on this last year ..just twichin it on the surface or jerkbaiting it just under the suface
  24. i would change the hooks i couldnt clean up and sharpen.. try crl to clean your organizers.. calcium rust lime spray .
