I really like m.k. trolling motors..i would get the most thrust u can afford if you are going to be in current.. the shaft length depends on boat, you can get the longer one if in doubt..i like interstate marine batteries as well.. also you can cut a piece of pvc pipe to a desired length to make an extension handle.. you can snug it with electrical tape around the t.m. handle,and can always be removed so you can stand up and fish back by the transom if the boat permits.

i agree with the others..pull up and straighten up before it jackknifes..but now I'm so used to it sometimes when i back up without a trailer i go the wrong way :-[

for me i have a window i like to throw top water, as well some guys use them year round.. the window for me , that i like to use is post spawn period -summer -fall-and then again at pre spawn..and the time i use them is a few hours before dark-night-and a few hours after dawn, unless there is overcast the bite could extend a few hours

at what age, do you consider is safe to take your child in boat fishing?

how far of a run do you have to make? a short run might work if its calm wind.

or you can drill a hole out in the front butt, section 1/2 inch or so and put a line tie in there.

I, have the 5 and 7 balsa ones, in the black silver foil,perch,and shad colors i have done the best with the 5 in perch color for l.m... but the ones i catch are on the small side.

look for areas with your graph, or go to a place you think you can catch fish and power pole or anchor down, so the wind is at your back. get on a pattern and move to those types off places doing the same thing
