  1. I use the swivel tied to a tree method everytime after I spool a new reel. It's the best way to ensure no twist in the line.
  2. I have 2 I bought on sale at cabelas right when they came out, mbr843 and a 852s. They are decent rods, but I think there are better rods out there on this price range. Of the 2 I like the 843 better. It balances better and is a good spinnerbait rod. The 852 is pretty tip heavy, and I've yet to find a great use for the rod.
  3. The autochart vs sonar charts depends on if you want to share your data or not. I went with autochart to keep my map data private. If it's a public lake soMar charts is probably the better choice since you can get map data other people submit
  4. I only use slip bobber now with bobber stoppers. So much easier to cast and adjust the depth.
  5. Should be lightweight. It says composite frame.
  6. Curious to see the reviews on this. I was hoping to see a smaller curado.
  7. Wish I would have waited on the helix 7. I like the 5, but would have preferred the larger screen of the 7
  8. I've got a spinner bait I tied on on March that I've caught 50+ fish on this year without retying the knot.
  9. It's unlikely there is sufficient sunlight throughour the day and the year. There may be times during the day where there is sufficient lighting for portions of the office, but it is nearly impossible that the entire office is well lit by sunlight all day.
  10. It's unlikely that the windows are positioned adequately to provide sufficient sunlight throughout the day for a proper work environment.
  11. Console will take up a ton of space in a small boat. Stick with a tiller motor in a jon boat

I don't think people are any more sensitive than they've ever been. I think people feel it's acceptable to be more rude than ever.
  13. Crazy that the people in billing having to work on a computer and read papers all day want to work in a well lit environment.
  14. The roundup or ortho poison ivy killer does a good job killing it. Even when dead, you can get a rash from it for years. You need to kill it and remove it.
  15. As the sport has become more popular, I'm sure it's more challenging for him to fish in events. I expect he always has a big crowd following him and has to manage that in addition to fishing.
  16. Abrasion is the biggest issue with braid. It frays when used in rocky environments.
  17. You can also clean fill and seal them with elmers wood filler.
  18. I just installed a helix on my boat last week. Factory settings were fine. It's a huge improvement over the unit that was on the boat when I bought it. I also bought autochart at the same time so I've started mapping my lake and I can replay the SI recordings on my computer to overlay on the map. It's a fun new toy
  19. It's one of my favorite rods. I had one a few years ago and foolishly sold it. I just picked one up used this spring for $75. The guy had 2 for sale. I thought about buying both.
  20. Looks like outdoor pro shop has the 66 avid crankbait rods as well.
  21. There is a an Avid 66MHM on ebay. I don't know much about the other rods on your list but I have an Avid 7MM and it's fantastic. I would expect the 66 is also a great rod.
  22. I have a g3 1548 I use for an electric only lake. The previous owner extended the front deck and covered the battery compartment
  23. I had my best spring ever throwing mostly a spinner bait. Every big fish I've caught this year has been on the same spinner bait
