  1. There is no micro card, it's just a standard SD card. I'm hoping humminbird will exchange it for me.
  2. I ended up ordering the autochart pro based on the ability to bring in SI images into the map. I bought this to use with a helix 5 which has a micro SD slot, but when I opened the autochart package it has a standard SD card. Humminbird's website says the software is compatible with the unit. Do you know if there is a micro zero level line card o can trade for, or will auto chart not work with the helix?
  3. I assumed it was closer to 10 guys.
  4. I'm doing what I went to school for, I'm a mechanical engineer.
  5. Going to college to learn skills to be a pro fisherman is a horrible idea. Either jump all the way into fishing or go to college to find a career you can make enough money and have a flexible enough schedule to afford to fish.
  6. I'd go nuts being frozen out like that. It makes me realize how fortunate I am to live where I do
  7. I pretty much always have a spinner bait on. Either white or chartreuse. As has been mentored already don't be afraid to throw into cover. Try to vary your retrieve until you find what's working. I think my first few years fishing I didn't know you could catch fish on baits other than a chartreuse spinnerbait.
  8. I wear long sleeves year round to limit sun exposure. Inflatable pfd on top isn't a big deal.
  9. My coworkers are baffled that I throw fish back. They've all told me to call them and they'll come pick up the fish if I'm just going to throw them back. They don't understand the concept of fishing for fun
  10. I'd order a handle from an e series curado or chronarch. Pick the 50e for a shorter handle or 200 for longer. Curado if you want silver chronarch for black.
  11. I wear mine 100% of the time I'm on the water. I don't see any reason not to have it on
  12. I tow mine around the yard and launched off the bank using my husqvarna lawn tractor.
  13. I'd take a look at the E6X's as well.
  14. I live on a private ~125 acre lake that has no contour plot available. I'd like to start mapping it out aND am trying to decide between autochart or navionics plus. I'll likely be the only person mapping the lake so there is no advantage to the public aspect of navionics. Has anyone used both that can compare the 2 and give a recommendation?
  15. I like 5lb bass by Robert earl keen
  16. St croix 68mxf casting rod is the greatest fluke rod invented. I've got a core 50 on mone. I personally hate throwing flukes on spinning gear. It's heavy enough that any medium casting rod should handle it.
  17. If he signed the title you are good to go.
  18. I use hair rubber band. I think I got a pack of a few hundred for $1.
  19. I wonder if bass is selling phone numbers they get from peopke entering contests online
  20. I took the 852 out today. It was pretty windy so I didn't use it a ton. I caught one on a small shakeyhead and another on a senko. The rod is a little tip heavy. I think I'm going to like the rod, but it doesn't feel as nice as the mbr843 did immediately. I want to try it on a calmer day to really test it out.
  21. I took my new to me GLX 844 out today.

  24. I think the avid 7 mf will be perfect for you.
  25. I'm excited to try it out. I'll give an update next week.
