  1. Awesome picture!!
  2. Some how I manage to hang in there and catch these two little fellows, it was only 43 degree but the wind was brutal! Caught the first one a Northstar jig and the other on a StrikeKing Premier plus spinnerbait in bluegill color.
  3. It really depends what type of fishing you persue. If you are content catching smaller fish, then I guess finese is your thing, but if your like me and is trying to catch the biggest fish in the lake, then you have to go heavy. I use to fish with light line till the biggest bass of my life broke off. After that I adjusted my gear, and havent had a big fish break me off ever since. Catching fish in the 3-5lbs range is fun, but nothing is more challenging than boating an 8+ fish, and the heavier line let's you be a tad more confident.
  4. People who are hating on the "senko" calling it a newb bait completely missed the boat. For starters, senko type lures not always catch fish, and there are many other baits that I would consider deadlier than a senko. If you don't fish cigars baits because it requires no skill, than you are one hell of a fisherman. I have fished many tourney's where the senko won mad money, so do we call these anglers newbs? Cigar type baits are amazing fish catchers, if you choose not to throw them because they catch to much fish than you have a blank check with your name on it. Join the FLW or the Elites and start cashing in.
  5. Well, Today afternoon I set the hook on possibly the biggest bass of my life. As soon as I set the hook, I knew I had a giant because it felt like hooking into a tree!!! Anyway, long story short the fish got off shortly after setting the hook. Upon further inspection of my terminal tackle, I found the tip of my hook had rolled over and slightly straighten out. That's not good in my books. I was using Owner Offset worm hooks, granted this is the first time this is ever happen since I've been using them, but this is the first time I've ever had this size fish testing it out. I have used these hooks for a couple of years with out any troubles. I fish with braid and fluoro leader, so I need a stout hook. Gammies and Mustad off-set hooks have failed in the past, except for Gammy super line. So my questions is, what else is out there in an off-set straight shank that can withstand braid?? Suggestions are welcomed!!!!!
  6. Very cool!! Congrats.
  7. Yep!! Especially in cold weather.
  8. That's a fat lady!! Congrats!!
  9. Never underestimate the fish by the size of the water!! If there is good amount of bait fish, them fat gals are eating good and getting HUGE!!!! Congrats on your trophy.
  10. I sell firearms for living. I am one of the few people who loves to go to work everyday!!
  11. Tighten your drag up, and swing till you figure it out.
  12. I am mainly going to be throwing 8" Hudds ROF5 and on occasion an ROF 12. But my main bait of choice is going to be 8" Hudds ROF 5. I can't decide which would do the job better, I've read that the 806 is superb for treble style swimbaits, and the 807 is better suited for jig hook style swimbaits. Is there any truth in this? I will be paring it up with a Shimano Cardiff 400A and my line of choice will be 80lbs PP and P-line 100% Flouro if needed. Should I be looking else where?
  13. That's a lot of man hours on one lure!
  14. Great duo! Way to tough it out.
  15. Big Fish for sure! Gotta love those good ol days..lol..
  16. I had a great day today! Got out of bed around 10:00 Am, made my rounds around house, and I knew I had to hit some local ponds. I got to the pond around 2:30pm, and I decided to throw a swimbait. The Lure of choice was a Huddleston Deluxe 68 Special in Shad color. I caught 6 fish total on this swimbait before the bite disappeared. The Biggest one of the day was 5lbs. The way I was working the lure was super super slow, with a twitch every now and again making sure I had contact with the bottom.
  17. Man what a bait. Today I went fishing even though the wind was blowing and howling like crazy so my expectations where not very high to start it. I caught one fish on a crankbait and I decided to pack it in due to the high wind. Getting back to Keitech, this swimbait has the best action I've ever seen in this style of swimbaits. Its just mind boggling on how stable this lure is without a keel weight. I did not catch a thing with it today, but had a couple of big Bass follow it back to the boat. I used a revenge XL swimbait head, and I also rigged it texas style. I know this bait is going to produce its just a matter of time. I wish I would have discovered this bait during summer time. Oh well, I'll keep chucking it til it produces.
  18. 50# Braid and 15#-20# flouro if needed. If I don't have to use a leader, I don't.
  19. Live bait don't count. What ever, nice specimen, but thats where it ends for me.
  20. If i had the cash, every reel I own would be a Shimano. I have 2 Curados E series, and I must say, they are the best reels I own. I have a couple Revos, Diawas, and a lews speed spool. None compare in smoothness and casting distance.
