Youre probably want to get some quality fluoro for that lake. InvisX 8# for spinning and AbrasX 12-15# for casting 8-)

Does anybody else think its cool when you can see where cold and warm fronts collide just by seeing the the storms? I dont know if its just me because im kind off a weather/science nerd but look at my pic below

For spinning gear I always recommend Using Seaguar InvisX or braid with any fluoro leader

maybe oil your spool bearings and chech your brakes and spool tension

never used San Diego jam. too hard for me to tie with stiff fluorocarbon. I'll stick with my uni knot its never failed me. Neither has a snelled hook. And you use a Palomar knot when drop shotting because it holds the hook horizontally.
