It depends if the fish are line shy or not IMO. Some places a fluoro leader is a must, while some places the fish could care less. Not every fish will want to see a string coming off of there meal, but some might not care. I always use a fluoro leader unless i'm frogging or jigging in very heavy cover. But like SoFla said if your fishing rocks a fluoro leader or a CXX type leader is a must

Sadly enough. yes. I actually have bass in my tank too but whenever I put a lure in a remover the hook or rig it so i can't hook them.

If you dont mind casting rods, they have a 7'3" MH/XF rod. As a general rule, as long as it fits in the lure weight you can use it. You probably won't need to give it any extra oomph though.

Thats a Daiwa Alphas Ito Ai... very sweet reels... a little hard to keep looking reel good.. but they are light lure casting machines... And rock solid brutes that handle anything as long as lots of line cap. isnt needed... I have 5-6 of them that I fish and a few new ones and love them all.. the fish like a pro and look pretty sweet to! they clear polycarbonate palm side plate looks pretty sick. 4 of mine have ABEC9's on the spools and 2 have Orange seal ABEC7's let me tell you with a those bearing upgrades on the right rod and right line they can get down really low in casting weight... ide say they pretty much bottom out around 3 to 3 1/2 grams...Also just to let you know they can be found for really good prices.. I bought 2X new in box ones for 395.00 for both (These are in the Reel display case never fished)... and dont think i paid over 180 for the others and all was in very good to mint condition... ones with some boat rash can be had 150ish... plus they just fit inside your hand so perfectly.. So it came with a clear side plate? And have been eyeing some Daiwa Zillions.

Go to Bass Pro. Feel and touch over the reels, play with them and find out for yourself 8-) This didn't really answer your question though. But I can't tell you because i dont own either 8-)
