I went to a nice sized pond today (shore fishing only). There were Bass on beds everywhere. I mean just about every 15 - 20 feet you could find a new bed with a male always on it, and once and a while a female. The fish just wouldn't take anything I threw at them! I threw senkos (red shad, white, wateermelon), t-rigged 4" Zoom lizards (chartreuse pumpkin). All kinds of different t -rigged worms/lizards in various colors, t-rigged Yum Crawbugs (watermelon flake) jigs (black and blue, watermelon, all black) Any suggestions? This is only my first spring "really" fishing so i linda knew this would happen. :-[ Any help appreciated.

My favorite would defeniteley be the sound of a big bass blowing up on the surface. Especially when it's nearly silent out and it echoes in the air a while.

I agree with Avid, I know rapala makes some pretty small Shad Raps in baby bass color, that oughta do the trick. Maybe try a small watermelon seed grub on a jighead if all else fails.

All I can say is WOW. That's an amazing fish. Anybody know what he caught her on?

I agree with what Avid posted, try something different. You mentioned your friend only fishing it a couple of times, so there can't be much pressure on the fish. Chances are they've never seen any lures like yours, or if they have don't remember, they'll likely take just about anything. (that's been my experience in a situation like yours) Good luck!

I also thought that that was just a terrible segment. :'( I believe at one point the man they were interviewing said something to the effect of "i'm gonna keep it whether its 13 inches or fifteen pounds." That statement alone is what really upset me.

I'm gonna say beteen 9 and 11 pounds. There are some real monsters where I fish.

How many of you all would agree that fisherman are athletes? I know some professionals will refer to themselves as athletes, but I don't always 100% agree with that. What do you think? My personal take on it is that an amateur fisherman, is simply that, just an amateur, and a professional isn't really an atlete but rather just a fisherman who has made a career out of fishing.

RoLo, I'm with Tenka, i've never seen a fish like that before. The head kinda looks like a Bass', the body is slender, but i've caught Bass that thin before. It's the markings that throw me off. If you could tell me what it is I'd appreciate it.

Hey Avid, The same thing happened to me! My mom took me to the doctor and he said I did infact have "tennis elbow." I wear an elbow brace now everytime I go fishing, if I don't I'll wake up with such horrible elbow pain, that I can hardly move my arm. :'( Hope it feels better soon!

Why not fish the sunrise/morning on tuesday, and afternoon/sunset on wednesday, or vice versa. :-? But seriously, I would pick the overcast day, just because I love fishing that kind of weather.
