  1. I wish you and your family all the best. if they tell you to go..,GO!! Don’t mess around Keep us undated Mike
  2. It’s the whole setup as a tool. A Zebco 202 with cheep mono on a NRX will catch a fish as will Tatsu on a 2ft long Pocket Fisherman. But combine Tatsu to the NRX now you got something! A bait casting reel is just a winch that you can buy loaded with all kinds of features to make casting and reeling easier to use with state of the art materials that will help it last a lifetime. But without a quality rod to attach it to, which transmits what the line feels, it won’t matter what reel you’re using. Give me a good rod with better line on a $50 reel and I’m a happy man. Mike
  3. Absolutely. Any time, any way Mike
  4. @Teal I always use white when bed fishing and sometimes when punching shallow hydrilla or hyacinth mats. Seems like the thicker the mat the white doesn’t work as well, don’t really know why but I have my suspicions. Over the years I’ve gone through 1/2 doz or so different colors, but the white in the 2 plastics I use the most for those presentations (Sweet Beaver or the Bug) out fishes them all regardless of conditions. Mike
  5. The Phenix X Series are excellent deep cranking rods. Mike
  6. Thanks!! I didn’t know that! Mike
  7. Totally agree. Call now and give them his description so they can do drive by’s periodically. If he had to be talked down from being aggressive to a stranger from someone he knows, this guy can be a danger to others even children if he’s there by himself. No reason to wait. Mike
  8. If you use a quality line, and yes that means at a higher cost it really isn’t necessary. I use flouro for all techniques except 2 and only use it for 20# and above, but not out of necessity. Mike
  9. This year was a 7.25 off a bed on a White Rage Bug. It took awhile Mike
  10. It’s unbelievable that you folks who live around where this thing is coming in that you have to go through it again. Mrs Mike and I will be thinking and praying for you all. Stay Safe Mike
  11. Mine neither.. If you use a quality heavy cover hook I see no reason why you would want or need too. Mike
  12. Phenix X Series deep crank rods That’s what they’re made for Mike
  13. I’ve been using them for years, and have never changed the spring to a larger or smaller size. They hold just fine with whatever I rig with. I use 5/0 and 6/0 size hooks. Mike
  14. Anything to improve quality of life is the best decision. You’ll do great!! Mike
  15. Super Spook Mike
  16. Don’t let it get to you my friend. You and dem other cajons are a tough breed. One day at a time, The sun will come up in the morning and shine just as bright. Mike
  17. I watched the first 10 seconds and shut it off. Looked like they’re trying to mimic Janet Jackson. Mike
  18. Long time ago It was alright. Mike
  19. Your wife is exactly right. Better to know and get it done. Best of luck. Mike
  20. I don’t throw them much, but when I do I’ll usually start off with it but I wouldn’t say it was my killer color. Mike
  21. February is a perfect time to be on The Lake. You’ll find bass in all stages. If this is the first time I would absolutely advise a guide. Do a search on here as I posted on another thread a while back about a 1/2 dozen full time guides, that I have either fished with in tournaments or know personally. If you’re adventurous, on another thread I listed a few areas that you can try on your own. I’d advise you not to venture too far into the lake and if you see a storm building leave! The Big O no place to go joy riding. Mike
  22. My thought also. But I gotta believe a few of them have traps in their rotation most everyplace they go. Mike
  23. Zoom lizard for Okeechobee Full size Brush Hog for Kissimmee Chain and St Johns river. Don’t ask me why Mike
