I use 3700 and 3600 boxes that I configured to store all plastics horizontally by using dividers so they remain flat when storing and transporting They are separated by style and color so nothing gets mixed. The only thing that will melt plastics is an inordinate amount of heat over time. That will happen no matter what you use. Mike

During tournaments it is done all the time when things get tough and running out of time. However, there is a trick to it in location, how much and how it’s done. Big difference than just doing donuts in a hydrilla mat expecting big results every time. Mike

I use BC for everything. That includes skipping and so called “finesse” techniques that folks say a spinning combo is best for. I disagree. With the right equipment and experience a BC is all that’s needed for any technique. Mike

The only 2 “advantages” of nylon over flouro according to the “Shootout” is elasticity and knot strength. To me elasticity is a non factor as there isn’t one presentation that I need to use nylon for. And yes, that includes treble and top water rigs. The other is knot strength. Honestly, in all the years I’ve been on this board the one thing that drives me nuts is the prevailing thought that no one can tie a consistently strong flouro knot!! I and many many other folks who use flouro almost exclusively have never had a break off that can be 100% attributed to the properties of the line. When tied correctly a proven knot will hold regardless of the line used. Granted, there are considerations that anglers should be aware of that are unique to fluorocarbon lines, which have been beaten to death on here. All that being said, unless I have totally misread or misunderstood the Bottom Line comment, I completely disagree with it. It insinuates that anyone who ties a knot using flouro doesn’t have his priorities in order. Now, let it begin ? Mike

I know and understand what my strengths and weaknesses are, and don’t force either. My biggest strength is picking apart a hydrilla or hyacinth mat or acres of moderate to heavy vegetation and making thought out changes in baits, presentation, location and yes, even equipment. I guess My biggest “weakness” is that I don’t necessarily agree with the prevailing thought that you must be constantly moving to cover water quickly to be successful in finding fish to establish a pattern. As a FLW tour co angler for years, I was forced to make quick decisions and rely on experience. Experimentation in unfamiliar waters with no opportunity to change locations when it got tough, taught and forced me to always fish my strengths when given the opportunity. Mike

It’s the only knot I use for fluorocarbon which is the only line I use except for 2 presentations. Mike

I want no movement at all, especially when punching. If there is any room the bait will pivot up and fall against the line. If I don’t get hit on the fall and then work it either on the bottom or the underside of the mat before I pull it up, the bait can get caught on stems and then spiral up. Mike

I never tried the baby ones, Almost always the regular size. When I need to down size I use the bug. Especially for punching which I’ve said many times I’d rather do than anything else. Mike
