  2. Wall Mart 1.00 spinnerbaits. Mike
  3. Late 50's sometime. Dang, just typing that made me feel old! Thanks a lot Mike
  4. Just depends on what you want to fish for and how you want to fish. You can fish salt water species from docks, piers, canals or the beach in certain places. If you want to hire a guide you can go off shore or fish in the bays, but even that isn't necessary. Depends on what you want. If you want to fish the Lake and don't have a boat you'll need a guide. You can do a search on here for one. Mike

I was surprised it lasted as long as it did. Mike
  6. I use 80# braid for specific presentations. If a jet ski gets close enough to cause a problem we're both in trouble. Mike
  7. Everyone loses fish one time or another for one reason or another. All you can do is try to control what you can and there's still no guarantee. Sharp hooks Solid hook set Best knot for what you're using Better knot tying Better reeling technique especially with treble hook lures Better landing technique etc etc Accept it's gonna happen Mike
  8. Koz Try minnow's, small in line spinners like a mepps or even a frayed nylon cord will work. Tip...If you see a gar rolling there won't be bass because of an area of low oxygen Mike
  9. Thanks James! Great ideas. Mike
  10. What's a "pumpkin seed"?? Never heard that before Mike
  11. If you are close personal friends or family members then I don't see a problem as long as you ask. If you're in a tournament at any level and fishing as a co angler especially in a blind draw format, the VAST majority of boaters I know would toss you out of the boat quicker than a culled fish. Regardless of how you choose to justify it. In almost all national curcuits if caught, you will be disqualified and probably banned. Mike
  12. Ditto Mike
  13. You're better off comparing ipt for each reel you have or considering buying for what you want to do with it. Use the stated ratio as a guide. Mike
  14. A "6" something reel is a good all around speed that can be used for everything you throw. Not too long ago they were considered fast reels. A slower "5" or faster "7 or 8" are intended for specific presentations, like most everything else there are no rules. The majority of my arsenal are "6's" Mike
  15. I use 14lb Sniper 3/16 weight. I rig tail down on a texposed 4/0 skip gap hook. 99% of the time I swim it. All other presentations are tail up. Also, I leave the tab connected to the body after taking it off the tail. Mike

  18. Have use original PP for years and never had a reason to change. Mike
  19. Always nail weighted on a 4/0 skip gap hook about a foot below a swivel. Mike
  20. Florida Texas California If you decide on Florida I'd go Stick Marsh Toho Big O The waters are low on Okeechobee right now but coming up. If you decide to go there do a search on guides as I listed a bunch awhile ago. All of them I know and have fished tournaments with most of them. Good Luck Mike
  21. You Haven't lived until you've been in a 21ft Bullett with a warmed over Merc 250 going 88 mph!! That'll wake you up.! Aa a tournament co angler for the last 9 yrs I've been in them all. Anyway, they do it because they can. I don't know anyone with a 175+ motor who doesn't open it up once in while. Mike
  22. For me it's been.,, Spook Magnum Speed Worm/Rage Cut R Rage Bug Fat Max Rinbon Tail Weightless Stick Bait I throw plastics probably 90% of the time. There's no substitute for "time on the water" and useing what you're "comfortable" with Mike
  23. Just slide it up your main line past where you want to retie, then slide it back down. I've got the same one on my punch rig for almost a year. Mike
