  3. Magnum UV Speed Worm Rage Cut R Rage Bug / Craw Super Spook Scum Frog Most outings I don’t rig anything else. Mike
  4. No You could consider it a tool or crutch However, If I relied on it exclusively and lost it, now it’s junk and I can’t tie a knot Mike
  5. Every combo has a different line type and/or rated strength. The 1 or 2 I grab is determined by the anticipated conditions and location of where I want to go Mike

  11. I have 2 but not a particular bait. At one time I couldn’t catch a fish on a spinnerbait to save my life. I would get hit but the vast majority were never hooked well enough or I would feel them run into it and never hook up. Until the vision of a trailer hook popped in my head and stayed there. I consider myself a pretty good sight angler especially on beds. But it took years to gain enough experience to consider it a strength. Instead of just dropping my bait in to elicit a reaction strike, I started to formulate a plan of changing angles and entry points. I felt there should have been obvious adjustments but it just didn’t occur to me until that light came on. Mike
  12. I entered a team tournament on the Caloosachatchee River last Saturday just to help out a friend as his regular partner couldn’t make it. We fished the dog legs all day starting on 1 end and coming out the other. We did that for about 2 miles, turned around and started again. He didn’t want to spend anytime on the river itself so in and out we went. He loves a black and blue weightless Senko almost as much as I love my Magnum UV Speed worm. By 8:30 we had our limit (12.4 lbs) and went big girl hunting. I was hoping to find beds but didn’t see any all day but we were culling by 10:00 About 12:00 the wind picked up with a passing shower and the water changed. He stuck with his Senko but I changed to a honey candy Rage Cut R then to a regular sized June Bug UV Speed Worm. I did that because heading out the other way changed our casting angle. I got 2 more a little over 2lbs each that wouldn’t cull. Rain stopped, wind died down so I decided to change to the Magnum again. He got 2 about 3# each. I culled twice more but 1 swallowed the hook which penetrated her gills and I couldn’t stop the bleeding. We’re not allowed to cull a dead fish which I knew she would be by the time we got back for weigh in at 3:00. We had to take the 1/2lb penalty. The water was moving quick as we approached a lay down that we fished hard the first time through but didn’t get anything. This time coming in from the opposite side I decided to fish the Speed Worm more vertically. After 1 slow pull straight up I hit it again this time really hard and there she was a 9.2# ! We trolled around and dropped it in on the other side but before I could engage the reel another one hit but she headed out to open water. She jumped twice and looked almost as big as the other one. Once I got her settled down and headed to the boat I told my boater to grab the net as I knew I wasn’t gonna flip it. He leaned over the gunnel as I brought her up. She must have seen the boat, the net or him but she lunged, he scooped and she was gone!! I said a few colorful metaphors as he just stood there. I knew how he felt and nothing I said made him feel better. We both just sat there awhile. Neither of us hooked up again the rest of afternoon Mike
  13. Got it We all come at things from our own perspective, that is what I tried to give. Other than for a few days after a cold front passes through in winter my waters are pretty stable year round. I don’t have as many variables to contend with as you. I see your point Mike
  14. That’s been the story all year We could have had 4 games this year if we had better coaching and spent money on the line. Keep the faith Brothers Mike
  15. The rule is you need to learn your own waters. Learn how your fish relate to any visible cover and structure that exists. Learn how different weather conditions can effect thier movements. Once you get that figured out any meaningful seasonal changes if any, will be easier to decipher. Mike
  16. 30 lb braid for all top water except frogs. Won’t use mono for anything Mike
  17. I hope all goes well and you come home soon. So glad it wasn’t more serious Mike
  18. Magnum Speed Worms are my # 1 always throw, no matter where bait! I got a 9 today with one at a tournament and lost another almost as big as my boater couldn’t land her with the net!! (I almost threw him overboard but it was his boat 😁) Make a note to yourself and post when you first get out this spring with your waters depth, clarity, cover, structure and weather forecast. As it all matters. I’ll help you out with a few tips if you want. Mike
  19. That’s what I use for frogs Mike
  20. Respectfully Disagree that what you referenced is better in every way. Nostalgia is in the eye of the beholder The reels Value is in my hand. Mike
  21. The reason people are asking $200 for them is because thats what people pay for one in good condition even when they could have “newer tech” The E has almost a cult like following To each his own Mike
  22. Best overall do everything reel made and that includes all the new fancy ones with all the exotic materials and fancy features. Use it for every and all presentations and lines. Mike
  23. The Boss just came home with a bag of LavAzza coffee that I never heard of before. Why? ”Because it has an Italian name so I thought you may like it” Gotta Love that girl! Mike
  24. Well, so much for having 2 promotions in 18 days. With a first half performance like that he won’t be getting a third any time soon. Mike
  25. That’s too funny!! Mike
