  5. Me too! It’s at the top of not only my fishing related items on my bucket list, but in the top 3 overall. Hopefully One of these days I’ll get the opportunity Mike
  6. Make’s sense, but isn’t the resistance you’re feeling be enhanced by the lighter equipment you’re using?? Mike
  7. Reading through all these posts I kept thinking, yeah but….Then I read this and glad somebody said it. First off I’ve never caught a smallmouth so you can say I’m talking out of my az and don’t know any better and you’d be right, I may not. But If I hooked a small mouth on what I perceive as the “average” type tackle from reading posts on here…. Med/Lgt spinning rod with 6# mono, and the same weight LM in the same water using the “average” type tackle used… MH/F casting rod with 15# flouro or 40# braid, yeah I would say a small mouth would give me a better fight. To me it’s all relative. Mike
  8. I own 8 but depending on where I’m going I’ll bring 6 that will cover pretty much everything I think I’ll need. Mike
  9. Admittedly I don’t throw jigs much at all. Right or wrong I always feel a well chosen t-rigged plastic with or without an added punch skirt if needed, is the better choice in where and how I fish. Anyway, I tied a Nu-Tech double weed guard jig that a friend used and must admit that double guard had me rethinking it a little bit. We’ll see Mike
  10. Agree With all the top 10, top 5 draft picks they’ve had for the last 15 yrs you’d think at some point they’d start to get competitive. Mike Most times a teams 2 minute offense is effective because the defenses are playing off in a prevent alignment which opens holes that wouldn’t normally be there Mike
  11. Great answer @geo g Mike

  19. I would just ask the manufacture if you need to salvage it. If you dilute it to get the consistency you want, you’ll still be diluting it’s effectiveness Mike
  20. I remember a few also…. Oregon Native (Rest in Peace Gary) Long Mike Sirsnookalot Fish Chris Al Wobach Raul I wish them all and everyone still here and your families a Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Safe New Year Mike
  21. Fish availability year round is one of the advantages of living down here Fish patterns, weather patterns, locations, bait and equipment choices will have to be considered but the choices of waters to fish don’t change just because of the season. Mike
  22. I don’t have the heavy only a 7’2” MH/F. I would say that rod is a little on the softer side of other fast action rods I own with similar ratings. If they stay true throughout thier line I would say yes. Mike
  23. I fished a BASS Nations Regional Championship on Lanier one time and if I’m not mistaken it took 20# from the front and 10# from the back to advance but that was in October. Every year and season is different, so just fish your game and every confidence bait you got. Most every boater I’ve drawn in the BFL’s and BASS Nations qualifiers and State and Regional Championships will do what they can for you as most have been in the back at one time or another. The best advice I can give you is to Don’t overthink it, fish your strengths if given the opportunity and try to be more aware and tuned into what they’re telling you and don’t force it. Again, the best of luck to you and let us know how you do. Mike
  24. I’ve fished BFL’s down here for years. The year I won the Florida State Championship was the most fun I’ve ever had on the water. As a co angler the rules are a little different for us but it seems you have the right attitude going in. Hopefully you’ll draw a boater who has a plan and willing to help you execute yours. Best of Luck Mike
