  1. I got a hold of TW. All Revos still come with spare spools. My box just didn't have the deeper braid spool. They said both spools are the same except one is made deeper for bigger braid and one is shallower for thin mono. They are sending me the braid spool I didn't get and are making sure all the other spinning reels have them in there.
  2. Looks great. Fantastic work.
  3. Nitro/Tracker started popping up at my local Cabelas as well. They still have a handful of Alumacrafts and Rangers. But in my area the Aluminum sell 3x times more than glass boats. Another thing I noticed is my Cabelas is discontinuing their house brand rods, reels and soft plastic. Was told there are "new gens" coming out at the beginning of the year. I assume that means BPS will start to use there manufactures and not Daiwa like Cabelas.
  4. I bought a Revo SX from TW and it did not come with it. I'll have to call TW and see what's up before I return it.
  5. I'm not sure that's why I posted this thread. I know Abu Garcia doesn't any longer
  6. Ok my budget is $200 I want a spinning reel that also comes with a spare spool. I love the spare spool because I spool one with 6# copoly and one with 20# braid and swap spools accordingly. Being a coangler it gives me another setup without taking up space. So give me ideas of spinning reels that still come with a spare spool. My first choice would be an Abu Garcia or Okuma but I am open to anything.
  7. I only throw R2S S-Waver. Great baits and good for budget anglers.
  8. I use Nate's Custom Baits www.natescustombaits.com I use his hybrid skirt that is a mix of living rubber and hair
  9. My wife and I are planning to either move permanently or own a vacation rental property in TN and Maryville was one of the places we have looked. I to live in Henry County in Liberty Center (Colton to be more specific but there are only 50 people in Colton). When it comes to the Maumee it is split into 5 sections. From Lake Erie to Perrysburg is a great largemouth and smallmouth fishery if you have a boat, Perrysburg to the Maumee Rapids is great for smallmouth and walleye but steelhead show up more and more, Maumee Rapids to the Grand Rapids d**n is the recreational area for Jet Skies and Pontoons, Between Grand Rapids Dam and Independence Dam is the Henry county area where there is great Largemouth fishing my PB came from this section, The last section from Independence Dam till in drains into the St. Mary's River in Indiana I know nothing about except there are endangered animals and they frown upon you fishing that section.
  10. very underrated fishery. Once the walleye run is over nobody is on the river. But it does produce quality smallmouth. But the northern section is so muddy it is like fishing in chocolate milk. I have a lot of family down by you as well. They are in the Sweetwater are so a little farther south but my family came to Ohio from the Townsend/Wears Valley area. What a small world.
  11. You beat me to it. Cox was the first person I thought of when I read this thread. Mark Rose used to use an aluminum as well but now is back in a glass boat.
  12. I saw a video on YouTube that shows hi vis pink becomes invisible underwater. The guy tied different colored line to frame and dove in. Surprisingly it showed hi vis pink becomes invisible almost immediate and hi vis yellow is the next to disappear with green and red never disappearing just turning black. Ever since I saw that I switched to pink Gliss 20# line and tie straight to the bait. I don't feel I have dropped in productivity and it helps with watching my line.
  13. I live in Ohio as well right on the Maumee River. About 5 years ago a guy caught a 25lbs Catfish that was bright orange. It made its way through the newspapers and local media outlets. ODNR said it was from eating goldfish. Goldfish is the main bait for that river to use for cats, bass or walleye. Between eating them and the few that were missed hooked and got off without a bite it changed the colors of these fish. They also showed a guy would dumped 10-15 in the river to swim freely then toss one out on a hook. So I agree that there may be someone using goldfish as bait or released some into the water.
  14. Every single person that answers will say Daiwa or Shimano. So I'll go a different route and say the Abu Garcia Revo STX. The new Gen 4 revos remind me of the Gen 2s and will start to take away market share from Daiwa and Shimano once anglers start using them.
  15. Xcalibur has only been gone for 2 years. It may not be an old lure just made by a brand that no longer exsists. My favorite Squarebill, Lipless and Jerkbait were made by xcalibur (XR50, One knocker, EEratic Shad). I believe the Heddon is the exact same with a different brand and packaging just like the Booyah One Knocker is the same. Edit: The bait you possess is "Excalibur" not "Xcalibur". Those are two different companies. The brand you have is a knock-off of Heddon products. They were normally sold at chain store or "discount" stores. Just use what you know about to Heddon baits and you'll have success with your bait.
  16. I am standing on roof tops announcing I'm In! PM inbound
  17. Found a better deal and got a Gen 4 Revo Sx for $75.
  18. Please show me where I have been on Ebay looking and can't find a RH Tat for under 100. There is a lot of LH ones though.
  19. I can get a Fuego new for $65 or Tatula for $110. I know one difference is the T-wing but is the extra $30 worth it for the Tatula?
  20. I fish the Detroit River and 3/8oz has problem staying on the bottom. The Maumee River though I can keep bottom contact with a tube or shakey head with a 1/4oz.
  21. I believe in if it aint broke don't fix it. I haven't tried new plastic baits in years and think 2018 is the year I start looking at different baits. I haven't tried the Ned Rig yet and that's on my list for 2018 as well.
  22. Like the title says I have never tried the rig and as I stock up for next season I want to add them to my arsenal. So what is the general all around weight you use for this rig. I am looking to strictly purchase the Z-Man Shroomz. I fish a lot in rivers I don't know if current plays apart in weight decision on this rig.
  23. I'm very set in my ways when it comes to plastics but with all the praise I read on here for Rage products I think since I am stocking up for 2018 its time to add Rage to the lineup. I think I am adding the Swimmer, Chunk, ReCon Worm and Bug to start. Is there any other bait that is a must try in the Rage Lineup?
  24. I'm down to do it this year.
  25. I think location is key. I live in Ohio and seems like slower presentations throughout the year produces more. But when I go down to my vacation rental in TN I have to burn baits all day to get bigger limits.
