Koppers Frogs my first impressions w/spro pics as comparison
I received 2 Koppers Live Target Frogs 65T size Green/Yellow & Black/Brown. I wont get to fish with them for a while but here are a few things I notice compared to my SPRO frogs, Scumfrog Trophy/Bigfoot. First the "rubber" is a bit softer than the SPRO. If I had to put a relevance to it I would say 25% softer, easier to squish the Koppers frog top/bottom side/side. On my Scumfors the Scumfrog rubber is even softer than the Koppers. Hooks- One of the hooks on the Koppers Green/Yellow is not sharp at all. I can run my index finger over it and the hook wont grab at all. The hook on the other side is a bit better but not great. The hooks on the Brown/Black frog are noticeably sharper but still not as sharp (not far behind) as the hooks on my used SPRO frog. The SPRO frog hooks will grab my skin with a light touch to them, with the Koppers it takes just a slight bit more pressure. I would say the hooks on my Scumfrogs are sharper than the Koppers as well. Skirts-Cant really tell any difference between the Koppers and SPRO. They are the same length and have same feel. Thats about all I have without getting to try them, here are a few pics.

Question for braid users
Braid (PP) on all my reels baitcasters, underspin, spincast, spinning. Had used braid for a few years then had a bad idea to try Trilene XL again on a spinning reel (stradic). Nothing but coiling and line twist. I put braid back on a week later.

google earth your fishing hole
Here is the lake I visit most. It is shore fishing only no live bait but nightcrawlers. A 1/8oz blue/black jig w/baby rage-tail craw worked well the little number of times I used one. Fished there for years but never used a jig till a couple months ago. Looking forward to this coming spring to see what the jig will do.

Best Spinning reel under $150
I too say Shimano Stradic FI. I have used one for a couple years now and very pleased with it. I have the smaller 1000 size havent had any durability issues at all but then I hardly ever catch bass over 18"

Silicone spray
I use ReelMagic with my spincast & underspincast reels that have powerpro and it makes quite a noticeable difference in casting ease-distance. Without the spray the coating on the line would build-up on the catch pins then cause sticking. One quick spray every few outings does the trick. Dont use it on my baitcasters or spinning reels though or for lube of bearings.

I got 2/0 EWG hooks. I tried the baby craw set-up today I didnt get anything. I tried SPRO frog, jig/craw, shaky worm nothing. Tried for gills with waxies even that was sloooww. I managed one 6" bass with waxworm. 75 bright blue skies very little wind very clear water =tuff.

limited time fishing??
Ill take your side. 1st I usually only get 2hrs if lucky 3hrs, 3-4 times a week so 4hrs would be like a vacation . I take one pole one lure and my bike to this 26acre lake. There are lots of nice spots but I try 5 or so and stay at each only about 20minutes 40 if catching them, hop on bike get to the next spot 200 yrds away and on the far back stretch of lake. The bike gets me to the better spots saving about 20 minutes over walking.

Looking for a L or UL spinning rod
St Croix has a 7' one piece. Avid Series Ultra-lite AVS70ULF 1pc 2-6#line, 1/32-3/16 lure wt, weighs 2.6oz. I know nothing about it though. I have Avid 8' ML 2pc that is great with gills & bass under 18".

Lead and the EPA
I wonder what the price of the rods and reels and lines are of the people that complain about the price of having to use a less toxic form of weight? Is the person that spends $150-$400 on a reel and has 2,3,4 of them really bothered by a $2 sinker?

New LCD TV screen cracked
Well my only experience with cracked LCD was not a tv but my $350 Canon camera w/LCD screen. I cracked the screen on it took it to the camera store to see about fixing it. Well the lady told me it would cost $180 they would have to send it to the factory. I asked her if I could buy the screen and fix it myself. Her reply was OH no-way its all electrics inside :-? This got me to thinking that if some person at a shop can fix it, I might as well try. I searched and did find a place to get LCD screens plus they had direction!!. I got one for my camera $60 shipped. I got out my camcorder and recorded as I took apart the camera. It took 10 minutes going slowly, only a small ribbon connector to undo and snap back together, and less than that putting it back together. Camera LCD screen changed and working fine for over a year now. So if you figure on replacing your set maybe take this opportunity to learn, take the set apart and find out just how difficult it is to get the screen out. -IT MIGHT BE EASY- Yeah a big screen may cost ya, $60 for my 2-1/2" screen so 40" = $$$

Daiwa Vs. Shimano Vs. Abu
I voted not a fanboy. I have Pinnacle ABU Shimano Daiwa Pflueger Quantum Zebco reels. St Croix Pflueger BPS Mitchell UglyStick rods. My favorite of each would be my Pinnacle bc and St Croix spinning rod.
