  1. At my LOCAL Gandr Mnt didnt say website If some reports hold the new curado will be 179 that a little close to the 199 chrony???
  2. Yes the curados and chronarchs went on clearance around Thanksgiving
  3. I have for a couple years now mostly wacky senko with 6# nano here one I caught and a few 3# catfish. First it is not a braid and shouldnt be compared as one it holds true to its rating. It has very good sensitivity dragging the senko on the bottom. It does have some memory but not an issue. Very little abrasion resistance. As touted casts great, distance wise. I get around 9# breaking strength with the version of a uni knot I tie.
  4. Chronarchs are still on clearance at local Gander.
  5. The stuff lasts years and years though Im still using 10year old braid. You have a dick's sportinggoods around you? Couple days ago they have 25% off clearance I got 300yd spool of Sufix 832 for $23.60
  6. Probably want to see a doctor for that. Well a different rod would help but if that not in the cards you can try braid for no stretch if you use mono or fluoro now. You try better sharper hooks. Do you have the hook exposed or texas-rigged with hook skin hooked? The t-rig will mean a harder hookset needed to stick fish that your flexible rod might not be able to accomplish.
  7. Compare Warranties and ease of getting the warranty handled like over the counter vs shipping rod +$20-$60. Lifetime, 5yr, 1yr, none Guides alconite vs stainless steel and other types Handles full vs split grip. Handle too long/short Balance tip heavy vs more neutral. Weight one rod could weigh 3.5oz balance very well the other 5oz and be tip heavy. Return policy of store being purchased from- I return a lot of items I dont like, so a liberal return is something I look for.
  8. Shimano could make an aluminum frame & both sideplates lightweight reel. Take the Helios its a nice solid feeling 6.3oz all AL f&sp reel at the $200 point. They should build it back in Japan as well.
  9. Been thinking about the tat for the same purpose. Im looking at the 7'7" Med Reg rated to 3/4oz figure give a bit better distance. I dont have a clue as to the actual taper but hoping to check them out at a fishing show next week.
  10. Lipless cranks for me. OU !!SOONERS!!
  11. Largest fish last year was caught with Aruka early May they seem to hold-up well and run straight the few I have. My RES well sort of wavered away from them due to many quality issues paint and not running true. Another reason for not using RES was success with Rapala Rippin Rap. It caught the fish plus ran true at any speed and the finish held great even throwing on rocks and running over gravel. For the tech you mention the Rippin Rap is made for yo-yoing but still does very well with various retrieves. The sound is different and the wiggle is tighter. Check vid about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnLvx98VaFU&feature=player_detailpage
  12. We must shop at the same store spray, bowl, blaster this brake clearner is acetone
  13. The core50mg7 feels a bit strained with 3/4oz spinnerbaits definately feel the resistance not a presentation Id use all day with the reel, lower gear ratio for sure.
  14. Yeah it got dinged for no rod sleeve, I think thats more fluff than feature. Its not part of the rod while fishing so why have that in there??? The application just has to do with that specific model being a heavy power stick. The only other ding was the balance so it just relates to this model.
  15. Tatula missing a 7' or longer Medium power Fast action bc rod in their line-up?, why?
  16. I went to try that and its so cold as soon as I unzipped little guy was like a turtle retracting into its shell.
  17. LOL would it be better to banter about a new color for the curado you know something important not like its features. I say drop the green go medium blue with maybe some yellow accented caps, spool, handle and just rename it the Shimano CHARGER,
  18. And thus my reasoning that Micro Modular Gearing requires the use of x-ship which utilizes bearing supported pinion. They have to use extra bracing for those smaller teeth and its the x-ship that is the extra bracing. No x-ship = no MMG
  19. What shimano reel has Micro Modular Gearing but not X-ship???
  20. Yes that I know and not what I was getting at. Its that I think micro gears require the use of x-ship to do as you & I stated. If micro gears didnt have the extra support given by x-ship the gears small teeth might misalign under load.
  21. Im not certain but would think micro gearing requires x-ship as well. The x-ship gives the extra support need to hold the smaller teeth in place to keep from stripping.
  22. I splurged for one of those $9 tungsten Jackall jigs think I might be afraid to use it though.
  23. You can get a shimano 50 in 8.0 no huge gearbox.
  24. Id like to have my 50E a 2speed geared reel. 1st gear 6.0 2nd gear 8.0. There are saltwater reels that have selectable gearing maybe that feature could be downsized to lowprofile reels. Thinking use the handle as the device to make change. Pull handle out to move main gear to low position and push in handle to lock high gear in use.
