  1. Well I have much more use on both reels BB1 Pro and CI4 the CI4 is a beast at casting. It will outcast the Pro from 1/8 to 3/4 thats the range I cast. Throwing 1/2oz lipless cranks CI4 eats the Pro in distance & spool control. The CI4 manages the line on to the spool better as well. I use 20# 832 on both and the BB1 Pro doesnt space the line as nicely as the CI4. I get dig in and so when casting the pro set on 2 not a good thing. I have the CI4 set 1-3 and the line doesnt dig and lure just flies without hiccups. Throwing small spinner baits 3/16 size the CI4 shines over the pro. Durability issues showing on bb1 pro none on ci4. CI4 flawless so far but the pro has 3 issues. One knobs peeling. Two the levelwind is way too loose and actually feel it wobble on a cast. Third the brakes are starting to squeal like an eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee sound while casting. I set the dial to free and squeal goes away or set it higher to like 6 on up no squeal. Where I like it to be on 2 is when i get the noise. Dont know if I got a bad brake block or not. Think the BB1 Pro is going back.
  2. Others have commented on the casting of the M/F I'll go into the retrieve of the M/F with jig. I went out and tried my 7'1" M/F *** with a 3/8 Jackall spade jig w/rage tail baby craw on it. It for sure loads well on cast but with this it loads just as much when retrieving. For me the tip was not strong enough to work jig efficiently through the weeds. The tip would load too much meaning I have to pull more to get the jig moving. So instead of popping the lure free it seemed more of a yank. This was with 20# braid on as well so the no stretch show the weakness in the rod. If you plan to use a stretchy line like fluoro or mono it would be even worse. So with braid M/F I would say is borderline, with fluoro no go get MH/F. No harm was done to any fish during the testing for this review
  3. 832 isnt as limp out of the box as other braids so give it some time to loosen up and then it starts casting better. Also the coating at least on mine was a bit much so what I notice was the line slightly sticking to itself. One might think its digging-in but it not just sticking. I have 20# 832 on a Chronarch CI4 and throwing a 3/16 booyah pond magic spinnerbait 35+ yards.
  4. The thing is George & Fred can still speak their ways but Archie isnt allowed to.
  5. I use through the eye twice 6-7 turn uni knot.
  6. Ha I just walked in from outside put 12# Sniper FC back on my Core50. Wasnt anamored, as others seem to be, with FC towards end of last year but willing to have at it again. I didnt have break-offs though my gripe is the stretch(lots) and extra effort involved working bottom presentations through weeds.
  7. Never really use them to target panfish. I did by chance get my PB crappie with a 1/2 RES chrome blue
  8. Rapala Rippin rap 1/2oz chrome blue
  9. With all the wind in my area a spinnerbait has been the most effective.
  10. I use Airhead AHP-12HP for my 124SMB works very well. Has a pressure relief (the red thing connected to hose) that lets air out after 1.4psi is achieved but without it will pump to 2.5psi. I think the SE need only .75psi but not 100% that is the amount needed. Oh its loud .
  11. Tatula for sure at the price they can be had .Put the $70 or so saved on a rod or very good line.

  17. With the better manageability of braid you could back off the brakes and or spool tension til you start to lose control this may aid in getting more distance.
  18. I got out and it was finally not as windy as it has been til the rain started. I went with wacky senko and got this 17" 2-1/2 # bass. Caught a few other dinks and looks like the bluegills are out in force.
  19. Kinami Palm Tree watermelon chartreuse. They are now discontinued so grabbed 80 packages of them while on sale.

  24. What are your brake settings? 1/2oz cranks should fly with one internal brake on, and 1-3 on the dial, loose spool tension.
