Even though the Okuma rods say they go up to 10 oz, what I have been told is that it is not the "sweet spot" for that rod. I do not know what rod to throw a 10 oz + bait on, but I am sure Speedbead will be by here shortly! Jeff

Some of the baits mentioned are in the 10+ oz range. You need a custom rod, or at the very least a Low Down Custom XH production rod for the depps and something even heavier for the mothers! Jeff

Really? This is the way I spool up ALL of my reels. Through a L&L soaked paper towel........hmmm Just re-read website and it recommends "small piece of synthetic cloth (e.g. old dress sock--don't use paper towels, cotton or wool)." So don;t use a paper towel like I have been doing.... I use L&L on every line I use. So I wouldn't know how to compare to other non-treated lines??? Jeff

I too have a Yeti. I have had other brands of "expensive, top of the line" coolers and none stand out over the others. But what I will add is this, because they have so much insulation compared to the coolers that do not work, it is required to get the cooler down to temp before it actually starts to work. What I mean here is this, if you store the cooler in the garage, and it is 85 out, when you put ice in it, the ice will melt. Why? Because all of the insulation is that hot. But once you get that insulation down to 32, the ice will last for days. So how do I combat this? I store my cooler inside. So that it is 68-70 before use. Then, the night before I want to use it, I empty all of my ice from my automatic ice in the fridge into it. It melts, but by the morning, it is ready for either more ice from the fridge(that is fresh might I add), or some bags from the store. I actually have 2 fridges and use both ice-makers for this. It also accomplishes the task of needing to empty the ice out of them and have all fresh ice frequently as well! Jeff
