That is a HUGE marlin. Likely a grander. Should have weighed it as soon as hey docked. Sucks they killed it. But not every fish survives the fight, and this might have been the case! Jeff

My setup is an all around setup. I use small shakey heads, drop shot, split shot rig, you name it. The Pinnacle fishes a power up, kind of like most St. Croix. The ML fishes like a M. I highly recommend it. Jeff

The guide is CRUCIAL! There was another boat the last morning we were there, locals not with the lodge, that were meat fishing. At one point we heard their first fish get dumped in their "meat locker". I specifically remember we were on fish 43. That was the morning of over 80 fish. Really boosted our numbers for the trip that one morning. And out of those 80, MANY were 5+lbs. I would say the guide is the most important part other than being there! Yes it is! Jeff

Well I ended up 2-3. But I only went 1-4 in the way I thought they would end. Man edgar has a gas tank and a chin. Gotta give it to him. Best fight of the night. Aldo should have thrown more leg kicks. Jeff
