I catch them on jigs in my club lake sometimes when bass fishing. They put up a good fight, and most of the times, act like a bass until you see the dreaded bronze flash! Jeff

I agree with the snap setting, but I don't think you can ever set the hook to hard on a jig. Ever seen Big-O's videos? Textbook exaple of how to set the hook with a jig. Jeff

Ok, well it has been a year and a hlaf since the "thing that beavers build" made to hold the water in at "Pond X" broke and it was completely drained. Some may remember the remarkable numbers and size that we were catching out of it, including me and my fishing partners PB's caught back to back weeks in March 2011. Well the "thing that beavers build" has finally been repaired and water has begun to fill it again, due to its natural springs. Plans on restocking and to break the levy of another pond to help boost fish growth in this pond are already in place. Just had to let someone know! I will get a picture soon! Jeff

Read up on Tinboats. There is a process that allows wood to last much longer, and it involves putting several coats of spar urethane on the wood before building. I have never done it but lots have! Jeff

Keep it simple. 6lb yo-zuri hybird for spinning. 12lb yo-zuri hybrid for b/c. And then your choice of 15-20lb flouro or braid for jigs/flipping/punching. Always use KVD line and lure for all of the above! Jeff fyi breaking strength on those yo-zuri lines are: 6lb- 11.9lbs ; 12lb-19.5lbs
