  3. I like this one the best!!! Augusta, GA Orville Smith, a store manager for Best Buy in Augusta, Georgia, told police he observed a male customer, later identified as Tyrone Jackson of Augusta, on surveillance cameras putting a laptop computer under his jacket... When confronted the man became irate, knocked down an employee, drew a knife and ran for the door. Outside on the sidewalk were four Marines collecting toys for the "Toys for Tots" program. Smith said the Marines stopped the man, but he stabbed one of the Marines, Cpl. Phillip Duggan, in the back; the injury did not appear to be severe. After Police and an ambulance arrived at the scene Cpl. Duggan was transported for treatment. The subject was also transported to the local hospital with two broken arms, a broken ankle, a broken leg, several missing teeth, possible broken ribs, multiple contusions, assorted lacerations, a broken nose and a broken jaw... injuries he sustained when he slipped and fell off of the curb after stabbing the Marine.

  5. Trailer. Other than killing your back it is your only option. Also might consider a "pelican" style boat. Very stable and much lighter in weight for ease of transporting! Jeff

  11. OK, I don't even know where to start...... Last Monday morning, my fishing partner, Paul, and I caught the first flight out from Memphis to Houston Texas, and then to Guadalajara, and the Culiacan Mexico. We arrived at the fishing lodge 3 hours later after a truck ride through the poor parts of Mexico, and then into the Mountains. We arrive at the lodge to a warm welcome of fresh frozen margaritas!!!!! We get settled in and start rigging rods and reels. 4 each with line in the range of 12 Yo-zuri to 17 flouro. Little did we know it would be too little, but we had backup! Most of the fish were caught in the "bushes", more like trees. The first day we broke off 4 good fish, and switched to 30lb and braid. Not many more problems, just a couple. Next time I will take only 25 lb flouro and braid. and if you know me, I hate braid! LOL We fished Tues-Friday at THE BEST BASS FISHING LAKE IN THE WORLD!!!!!! Tuesday AM we fished from 6 am-12:45: 26 Bass (8 lb 8 oz Pauls new PB) + 1 over 7lbs, 7 over 6lbs and 10 over 5!!!!!!!! But wait, it just keeps getting better........... Tuesday PM we fished 2pm- 8:30 : 6 bass (9lb 13oz my new PB) + Paul caught 3 over 8( 8lb 3oz, 8lb, 8lb 6 oz) and also 1 over 5lbs Wed AM we fished 6am-12pm: 13 bass (10lb 4 oz my new PB again) + 1 over 9, 1 over 8, 1 over 7 and 1 over 5 Wed PM we fished 3pm-7:45pm: 11 bass ( 9lb 11oz Paul new PB again) + 1 over 7 and 1 over 5 Thurs AM we fished 6:15am- 1:30pm: 19 bass ( 10 lb 14 oz my new PB again) + 1 over 8, 2 over 7, 1 over 6, 1 over 5 Thurs PM we fished 4:30pm- 8:30 pm: 30 bass with only 1 over 6 Friday AM we fished 6am-12pm: 83 bass(10 lbs 9 oz Paul new PB again) + 10 lbs 2 oz(Pauls PB at the time), 1 over 8 4 over 7 10 over 6 and 10 over 5 Friday PM we fished 5pm- 8pm: 45 bass for one day total of 128!!!! 1 over 9, 1 over 8, 1 over 7, 4 over 6 and 10 over 5 83 bass over 5 lbs in 4 days, which was almost 40% of our entire catch! Absolutely UNREAL!!! Unlike anything I have ever heard of in my life! Fish were feeding on shad, and keyed in on moving baits almost solely. Didn't fit my style of fishing, but with results like that who would complain!! Found out the time of year for jigs/t-rigs,topwater and will be making my next trip then! BAITS OF CHOICE: 1/2 oz scrounger with rage lobsters, trick worms and swing fat impacts BIG crank baits (dd22, cbd20, bomber fat free bd8f) 12-14 foot cranks Worms were thumpers, anacondas and ol monsters and senkos Caught a couple(4-5) on topwater popper and spook Caught a couple on my hand tied jigs Caught a couple on 1 oz spinnerbaits Caught a couple on storm swimbaits Let me tell you this was absolutely the best fishing trip of my life. Both of us got out of the 8 lb, into the 9's and then into the DD Club. A goal we have been trying for for our whole lives! I highly recommend this trip to any serious bass angler. It has become a staple in my travels, one that hopefully I can do every year! Our guide, Manual "lightening" Salazar was amazing! Best fisherman I have ever come in contact with. The lodge was awesome! No TV, No internet, No cell service, just you, the bugs( beetles, scorpions, grass hoppers, lizards and frogs) and the fish!
  12. I will never have another non electric start or non 4 stroke....... Just saying! Jeff
  13. The first biggun was at an apartment pond, that I was not supposed to be fishing. More on that later. I had heard of a big fish or 2 in there, so I was throwing a big swimbait. One with only the top single hook. I had been there for a little over an hour with only one dink. I had made a really long cast, let it sink and started a retrieve slightly off the bottom, when a big strike and an immediate hook set. The fish was pulling drag on my baitcaster, so my first immediate thought was it was a catfish. I played it for what seemed like a while, maybe 30 seconds, and then it shot straight to the top. She was so big she couldn't even get all the way out of the water when she tried. I almost cried right after when she headed straight back down and my line snapped. I was tying on another when the security guy came over and asked what that was I had just lost. When I told him, he told me the story of the guy who lived around the corner who hung the 12lb 2 and released it then asked me where I lived. Told him where and he then informed me that it was a "private" lake for only the ones in the neighborhood, even though not marked and can see from a main road. I have been back once, and the same security remembered me and told me next time he would call the law.......... Second time happened when I was fishing with Kent (RW) at one of his honey holes. We were fishing the right time of the year for that big bite, and had been there for several hours with nothing to show for it. I was using a rage hawg t-rigged when I drug it though a drop off and about had my rod ripped out of my hands. I set the hook and instantly knew it was a good one. At this point the biggest fish I had heard about out of this pond was 6 lbs, little did I know Kent knew otherwise. This fish wouldn't budge and then all of the sudden we saw her., Kent comes running over, and although I had her hooked not 20 feet from the bank, she ran straight at me, as to say "not today" and got enough slack to not land her. This is the one I should have landed for sure, but you know how fishing goes. Kent then told me about 2 weeks later a guy landed one over 10 and KEPT IT........urggg. The third time was in the same pond my PB came in and in the same 3 week period of a 7, 2 8's and then this fish were hooked out of this pond. All others were caught except this one. This pond was FULL of buck brush and you had to be very careful of what you threw and where. It was also spring fed and therefore on the clear side, so braid was out of the question. We were fishing the sweet spot of this pond, within 100yrds of the 2 8lbers, and I was throwing a t-rigged sweet beaver. I made a cast in about 6 foot of water, and as soon as the bait hit the water, the line took off. I found that weird and assumed it was a smaller fish because of this. I reeled down the slack and set the hook. Much to my surprise she was still just under the surface and started an aerial show only a smallie would do. As soon as this happened, so did pucker factor, My buddy in the boat drops his rod and gets ready to land her. Big mistake. He was on the trolling motor end, and she wrapped me in buck brush. Not that it would have made a difference as she was gone before we would have made it over there, but you never know....... Bigguns don't get big by being smart or by getting caught! Jeff
  14. Yes, on a spinning rod 8lbs is max for me! Jeff
  15. Nice fish! Both with torn up tails.......LATE spawners, kind of surprises me! Jeff
  16. Great day on the water again! You are on fire! Congrats! Jeff
  17. I've lost what I can assume were 10lbers 3 times in my life. All 3 times, I saw them and 2 times, know that in the same ponds were caught a 10lb 13 oz and a 12lb 2 oz. I am on a mission to join the DD club, one way or another.....maybe its just around the corner! Jeff
  18. Stradic ci4 2500 without a doubt the best bang for you buck in the spinning reel catagory. I LOVE mine! Jeff
  19. It's only like 15 hrs and a couple mins for me........LOL Jeff
  20. Wow! Just crazy! Lucky nobody got hurt! Jeff
  21. I wanna go! But you are a little too far from me! Jeff
  22. Get a jig and count it down in a body of water you kow the depth of(swiming pool) Easiest way is to find one combo that falls 1 foot per second. Then count it down as you cast it out! Jeff
