With insults like that sir, you will get warning points from the mods. Ease up on the old guy, his head isn't that big! Huge bass, congrats! Jeff

  4. I catch them on jigs in my club lake sometimes when bass fishing. They put up a good fight, and most of the times, act like a bass until you see the dreaded bronze flash! Jeff
  5. I agree with the snap setting, but I don't think you can ever set the hook to hard on a jig. Ever seen Big-O's videos? Textbook exaple of how to set the hook with a jig. Jeff
  6. ahhh...what you caught was a drum....sometimes called croakers. Jeff http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freshwater_drum
  7. I have a deep diving crank rod for sale in the flea market....... Jeff
  8. Tiny picture but it is from a non "smart phone". You can see the new "thing a beaver builds" in the foreground and it is starting to fill up. I am SOOOOOO STOKED!!! Jeff
  9. Ok, well it has been a year and a hlaf since the "thing that beavers build" made to hold the water in at "Pond X" broke and it was completely drained. Some may remember the remarkable numbers and size that we were catching out of it, including me and my fishing partners PB's caught back to back weeks in March 2011. Well the "thing that beavers build" has finally been repaired and water has begun to fill it again, due to its natural springs. Plans on restocking and to break the levy of another pond to help boost fish growth in this pond are already in place. Just had to let someone know! I will get a picture soon! Jeff
  10. I just keep the waterline there. Shows it is a fishing boat, not a show boat! Jeff
  11. That is it....maybe a 3 hour drive or so for ya! Come on! Jeff
  12. Congrats to both of ya! Hopefully she's hooked! Jeff
  13. Read up on Tinboats. There is a process that allows wood to last much longer, and it involves putting several coats of spar urethane on the wood before building. I have never done it but lots have! Jeff
  14. Seems you had a good time, and a trip you will remember with your brother! It is not always the fish you remember but the times! Jeff
  15. Are you sure it wasn't a catfish? Never heard of anything else that croaked before. Jeff
  16. I do recommend that! Here is a picture of my back deck framing... Only piece of wood in my boat is for the transom, and only because it came from the factory that way! Jeff
  17. Keep it simple. 6lb yo-zuri hybird for spinning. 12lb yo-zuri hybrid for b/c. And then your choice of 15-20lb flouro or braid for jigs/flipping/punching. Always use KVD line and lure for all of the above! Jeff fyi breaking strength on those yo-zuri lines are: 6lb- 11.9lbs ; 12lb-19.5lbs
  18. No offesnse to either of you, but I think this is the difference of a 50 yr old and a 26 yr old's mentalities! And just so ya'll know I am only 28. Never take food off the table or a/c out of the house for a pleasure. Jeff
  19. x2! And also aluminum lasts forever. With the bang up job you are doing, make it last! Jeff
  20. bottom contact lures/punching 7:1 spinnerbaits and lipless 6:1 deep crank 5:1 topwater 7:1 spinning shimano stradic ci4 2500 Jeff

  23. I use 15lb Invisx, but previously used 40lb Samurai. I have since taken all the braid off my reels! Jeff
