  1. Sounds like a plan to me! I am ready to fish whenever and always! Jeff
  2. Fork or Falcon in Texas. Erie, St Claire up North for smallies! Jeff
  3. Cranking that thing through, around, on top of, against and under ANYTHING I can, and it is getting nailed! But alot of that was Guntersville rock levees and bridges in 20-40 MPH winds. Jeff
  4. Like me enough to put me on MEGA-SMALLIES??? Jeff
  5. I was kind of thinking, if you have ever fished with minnows or shiners, you know when they get bit and you don't catch a fish, the scales start to come off. Does this make it look like a vulnerable hurt baitfish? Hmm.....I will be fishing this crankbait tomorrow so we will see how she does on Pickwick! Jeff
  6. Make sure to save that pictures to show him in the future! it is something he will charish! Congrats to you and him! Jeff
  7. Here she is...what do yall think? Jeff
  8. Well the offer stands, now until whenever! Bring a 50e, or I will bring any of mine! Just let me know! jeff
  9. Congrats! The smile is priceless! Is that his first bass? Jeff
  10. OK, everyone knows not all crankbaits are created equal, even ones of the same brand, same model...etc.. Well I started with this Lucky Craft crank the week before the road trip and since then have beaten it to death. I changed the rear hook this afternoon, but was wondering about the paint job. It is still catching fish, but should I try and nail polish paint it, or do I risk the chance of messing it up? It has been bounced off of Guntersville rocks so much the paint is coming off. Bill is still in fairly good shape, and now both hooks are good. So only thing I am wondering, nail polish paint it, or leave it alone until I loose it? Jeff PS> This is one of those, I would go diving in to get....its that good!
  11. mallard throws alot of swimbaits....probably not hudds though. My guess would be other soft swimbaits and hollow bellies. Jeff
  12. I would venture to say Traveler and Rhino have longer.........they are from way up there in Northern Country Jeff
  13. It would be really hard to brace the deck enough so that it wouldn't flex and break rod tips, while walking o the deck and rods in lockers. do you want to put rods in boat to leave them or plan on taking ods out every trip. if the later is the case, my buddy just uses rod straps and straps them to the deck, as you would after arriving at lake. hey do not move going down the road, and you eliminate the need for a locker. i will take a picture tomorrow of his setup, to help you understand! PS.. with all of these pictures you are posting, I will quote traveler here, "your over 5lb PB" is still missing! Jeff
  14. Doc...welcome home and thank you for your service! Where did you try out your nice gear? Hope you slayed them! You haven't missed much in Memphis except your family! Get to catching up buiddy! Jeff
  15. I love my core 50, and I have 3 50e's. Tough decision, one you will have to make! See if you can fish with someone's you might know! We only live an hour away, if you are ever in Memphis, I have one you can fish! Jeff
  16. Nice! Even schoolies are fun! Jeff
  17. I fish for bass because of the challenge. Although I do like bream fishing about 3 times a year, crickets and bobbers are just too easy. I don't like catfishing, because it gets boring. Crappie fishing is fun, and they are good to eat. If I lived closer to brown trout waters........I would be a multi-species addict, and divorced at that! No musky, pike, walleyes or anything like that close. My options are bass, bream, crappie and catfish. I do have a passion for offshore fishing as well, but the closest drive to the shore is 5.5+ hrs, so it doesn't happen as often as I wish. Jeff
  18. Retail Sales of Wine and Liquor Jeff
  19. 50-65 braid has the same diameter as much less mono equivalent. You will be fine. Make sure you have good knots, your rod guides are braid approved and get to catching! Jeff
  20. under 120 miles.........NO BRAINER. Can't wait to see all my BR friends again! Hopefully everyone who wants to catch that smallie does. Pickwick is known for huge smallies, but the LM still outnumber the SM by a ton. We will catch them though. Don't worry. I am headed there tommorrow and will give a report! Jeff
  21. You want a jig rod with good backbone to set the large hooks of a jig. I recommend a 7'+ h/f rod for jigs 3/8oz and up. Many people use braid, I prefer flouro, specifically Invisx 15lb. my personal jig set ups are as follows: Loomis BCR854glx/Shimano CH200e7 St Croix AVC70hf/Shimano CU200e7 St Croix AVC70mhf/Shimano Core50
  22. Also, I like my jig rod to be paired with the fastest of reels. Your 5.3:1 reel picks up 25.5'' of line per turn(IPT). The reel I use for my jig rods are Shimano Chronarch e7( 30 IPT) and a Shimano Curado e7(30 IPT). Might help to keep them coming at you faster and not give them any slack on the retrieve. Jeff
  23. Yep I was the one there before you in the red truck Jeff
  24. Just like a popper. Cast and let the ripples disappear. The I almost always slight jerk, in case one has been looking at it and it draws a strike. Then in between pauses, I start fast and slow down as needed until I find the correct cadence! Learn the devi's horse and it will be your friend! Jeff
  25. Mid-week mingle and munch it is! Don;t leave me out on this one Gary! Jeff
