My topwater setup for smaller poppers, 1/2 oz and under buzzbaits, propbaits and wtd type lures is a 6'6'' mf with a curado 200e7 if that helps! Jeff

What topwater lure are you throwing? I could see a problem if trying to throw a tiny popper, but a Heavy 1/2oz+ lure should be no problem! Maybe you should buy *******! Jeff

"nope you cant cause open water doesnt hold fish like covered water does people say these things cause they know what they are talking about and are telling the truth lures dont work either you must only catch fish with live bait on hooks that is the only way to catch fish in open water not covered water esp if you are talking about in the winter time when the water is colder that is when i catch my biggest fish the best time is in the winter in open water with live bait on a hook and then sometimes i can catch them in covered water with lures but that only happens sometimes but i guess it all depends on where you are and what types of water you are fishing" Jeff

Oh it matters a lot. ALL of my jigs have a somewhat matching head/skirt combination. And even if it doesn't match well, it at least has some paint on it. There is a reason for this, and it is this: I like my jigs to look pretty when I am making them. And I like my jigs to look pretty when I am pitching them. And I don't care if the fish can see it or not, but a plain head is UGLY!! Jeff
