Strike Zone Shake Up Worm
Seriously??? Nobody?

BPS bionic blade
Kind of an echo of all the others...ok if gotten cheap. I bought a light action to use for crappie. It's great for this application but I wouldn't buy one for bass fishing.

travel rod?
I am also going to be in the market for a two maybe three piece. Going to El Salto in the spring and not sure what I can carry on the plane.

Clarkco State Park Quitman,Ms.
SORRY THIS POST WAS MEANT TO BE IN ANOTHER FORUM 65 acre lake 30 miles from Meridian, Ms. This place has me stumped. I have thrown literally everything in my tackle bag and have caught next to nothing. A buddy of mine caught an eleven three and a thirteen and a half there during the spawn this year. I didn't start fishing there until about two months ago. When asked what to catch them on there, my buddy suggested topwater and worms...thanks pal that really narrows it down. Any fellow Mississipians on here? Open to any suggestions.

Rude Anglers
A few weeks ago I was sitting about 35-40 yards off the bank when this jackass comes WAO, his kid in tow on a kneeboard, between me and the bank. I threw my arms up in protest. He makes a wide turn and comes back even closer and swerves at me, laughing. I scream obscenities. The third time I was ready, he was headed straight for me and right before he turned I lobbed a pair of digital scales directly at his head. I missed his head (very glad I did because it could have seriously injured him) but I busted his windshield with the scales and when he pulled up to the pier I jumped in his boat and beat his *** in front of his wife and kids. I'm not typically a violent person, I don't go looking for fights, and I don't recommend taking the course of actions I did. However, sometimes the adults are the ones that need an attitude adjustment. 40-50 years ago none of these things happened. Why? Because back then people knew they would get their butt kicked for doing stupid things like this.

Braid making a weird sound??
Spiderwire does make a rather high pitched noise when loaded. I remember it now....weird.

Braid making a weird sound??
Spiderwire feels alot rougher than other dyneemas to me. I'm not a fan of dyneema. Dyneemas-Fireline, Spiderwire etc. PowerPro is a vast upgrade in quality over Spiderwire but also makes noise. Also like others said, Daiwa Samurai is probably the smoothest and quietest. This comes at an alarming price. A price I find unnecessary. PowerPro is sufficient to me. Sufix Performance Braid is another fan-favorite in the same price category. You just have to find what you like. I hate Fireline, you may love it...

Need some shakey-head advice
When shaking higher up in the water column not on the bottom, I like Picasso Shakedowns. Very small, limber spring retainer with good hook-ups. When I'm on the bottom I use their football jig and Megastrike's Shake2 Pro Model. I feel like I get better hook-ups with the Picasso but more bites with the Megastrike.

Snaps, or tie direct?
Those are two knots that have a significantly higher failure rate than the palomar that I use with a #2 snap. Do you use the #2 on all size cranks or would you go up for larger stuff? For example, smallest being a Lucky Craft Fat Mini SR up to a Bill Norman DD22. I've never used a snap before but after reading this thread and thinking about how much time and line I go through changing cranks, I may try the duolock.

Sharpening Owner Cutting Point Hooks
Nope, I can't improve an Owner Cutting Point. Hang it on a dock or branch and then maybe so but just to get by.

Strike Zone Shake Up Worm
Has anyone else tried these worms yet? I can't believe the amount of durability of such a soft worm. One of the softest worms I've ever seen. Very nice buoyancy also.

Sebile Magic Swimmer Hook Question
Sorry, I somehow missed the part about hook size...going up can have negative effects to the action of the lure, mainly because of extra weight. Gamakatsu offers a short shank "magic eye" treble hook that you can go up a size with on some lures. The short shank not only keeps the weight down but keeps the larger hooks from being able to reach each other and hanging up, getting it's legs crossed. The "magic eye" part wellllll....split rings and treble hooks are a pain. They are a little easier to deal with but by no means a resolution to the problem.

Sebile Magic Swimmer Hook Question
Depends on the lure. The Sebile has really good hooks on it. Cheaper lures, cheaper hooks.

Sharpening Owner Cutting Point Hooks
I can and do sharpen my hooks. Why? I can get them sharper than they come. It's a small detail in my preparation that increases the amount of fish I catch. I would rather go fishing and not get a bite than lose ten fish. Yes, hooks are disposable items these days. Yes, sharpening them will take off the coating and make them rust faster. So what? Disposable items! With the right tool and a little practice you can get your hooks so much sharper, in a few seconds. Not trying to promote anything but berkley makes a little pen shaped hook file that has a somewhat effective vise on one end and the file in the other end. 320 diamond grit file with a flat side, rounded, and a side that has a cut-out that makes it simple for beginners. You can get it sharper with the flat-side though. I've used others and saw no advantage but they had something like 180 grit. Not tooting my own horn but I can sharpen the the hell out of a hook with that file. I'm going to get a Owner Cutting Point and see if I can do irrepairable damage to it.... To be continued....

Hard Body Swimbaits
I'm impressed. The Sebile is the first hard-swimbait(haven't tried many) that's worked for me. I fished my private 10 acre lake with it today. When the bass were cornering the shad in the shallows, I would toss it in there hard sideways and make it skip. Then, burn it up top till it came out of all the action and slow down. Kind of making it look like it had escaped. The second I slowed down one would nail it. I'll try slow and steady when I get on the big lake tomorrow.

The best way to fish a Zipper Grub?
I just got in some Zipper 4in Zip-Zits and 3-1/2in Zipper grubs. Should I fish them T-rigged with a small weight or on a jighead? Carolina rig??? The 3-1/2in Zipper Grubs were suppose to be Roboworm but I'm assuming maybe they are one in the same?

Hard Body Swimbaits
Not real familiar with Avid but my Cumara Reaction 70MH Med-fast should be fairly close to that. What retrieve works the best for you with the Sebile?

Hard Body Swimbaits
I was just about to ask about the Sebile Magic Swimmer. I got a slow sink 125mm/5inch in gold shiner today. Should I throw this thing with my medium depth cranking rod or something a little heavier? Not trying to jack your thread just thought you might could use the info to.

New Sufix 832 Superline
Fireline is the only braid I've ever seen break on a cast LOL!! Not saying it doesn't happen, hell that's simple physics. I swear I'm not trying to start an argument with you Dodge. I just thought it was very ironic and funny that I read your post while thinking that.

questions about my line
I have to agree with bassclary...this is the nature of the beast with alot of fluorocarbons. Get some Ardent Line Butter(line conditioner) and give the whole spool a good dose of it the night before going fishing or before you leave home if you can't the night before. Depends on the brand fluoro you are using to. Some you will find are totally unmanageable. Try to remember to reel up with some tension on the line. I get mine in while hopping or bumping the lure.

Does the Stradic CI4 come with a suede bag like the Core?
Thanks

What line are you using?

Look it's the new Pflabu Lewcia line!

Uncle Josh MAXX Pork???
Stop jacking me fool! j/k I've always rigged them the way the pic on the bottle is. Unless, I'm using a (example) black/chartruese and want the black side up or vice versa. I've never used the MAXX pork trailers before but I'm sure I'll go for whichever way is more conducive to making the claws stand up higher.

Uncle Josh MAXX Pork???
That is true. The only reason I don't use them 12 months of the year is because in the dead heat of the summer it's hard to keep them from drying out. I thinbk they have a more realistic feel to the fish and probably have a better taste than plastic. Just my two cents...
