  1. Good luck with it....I'll be getting one soon. :
  2. Oh my friend, you didn't mention that part, that will be dream combo. The is nothing like the Pixy for finesse baitcasting.
  3. If you are talking about the Daiwa TD Handle Set, it fits reels that already have a clicking star drag, the Sol/Alphas not been one of them.
  4. If you are talking about the Daiwa TD Handle Set, it will fit reels that already have a clicking star drag, the Sol/Alphas not been one of them.
  5. If you are not fishing in salt water, the Alpha Type F is even lighter and has bearings on the knobs. The 3 of them have very similar performance.
  6. WOW....that is news, not even Shimano have it listed on their products, I was also convinced that there was no 101, thanks for the info.
  7. Robert I don't know much about Shimano's but if you are planning to try something else, take a look at this guy.....ultra sweet.
  8. Same here, I just feel like the Powell is a better rod for a heavier lures.!!!!
  9. Try a Seeker E or S glass, get a blank or the rod.
  10. First and last, ever!!!!!Shimano Curado....I hate them >
  11. My biggest grow this year, without questions, have been in the area of reel mechanics and care. It is now a hobby almost as pleasurable as fishing......thanks to Reelmech, David Green. Another member I have learned a lot in every area of bass tackle and fishing....Raul, immense source on knowledge. Thanks you.
  12. I had to think this one. There are some rods I get a very special pleasure when I use them for some techniques. Custom George Roth Seeker 706 e-glass for deep cranking. Steez 6.7 MH for Fat Ikas. Custom David Green St Croix 6.6 H., shore fishing my lily pads jungle with heavy jigs.
  13. Thanks for the info Avid. I'll give it a shot.
  14. I'm also very satisfied with my 7.95ML. The handle is extremely comfortable and the right length for me. Also the hook keeper is well designed and placed in the right spot to hold the big lures, I don't think I need to be drilling the trigger on this one. I dragged a 3 lbs with 10 lbs of weed and grass thought the pads and the rod hold its own.
  15. For light jig BCR 803, absolutely.
  16. Jig Man I use the same knot on my braid-fluoro and get exactly the same results, 9 of 10 the brake will be there, it is just the weakest point ( with or without saliva ), it may affect recovering a jig but it is strong enough to hold the fish fight, I'll take that over breaking the rod, at least most of mine are not rated for 30 lbs lines.
  17. Ghoti you can order like Raul said from Daiwa ( 562-802-9589 ). It comes complete with 4 bearings and knobs, $ 39.00. It fits some other Daiwas but not the Millionaires. Also fits Quantums Accurist and Energy and Shimano Cardiff.
  18. I also have 2 of them. Pretty much what Chris has said. It is not for finesse.
  19. That is exactly why I started doing it myself. Reelmech ( David Green ) manual was and is indispensable for me.
  20. It is 41 degrees now but finally the wind calmed down...there are 3 lakes on the way home and wife is working.
  21. I have blast watching your videos. Thank you.!!!!
  22. The only Rapalas that are labeled are the DT series.
  23. I have much better results with the regular single body than with the jointed.
