Thumb instead of drag?
I'm extremely careful with my drag setting especially on those sets where I have braid with a leader, no a problem in open waters but when dragging in a fish + 5 lbs of mud and grass, it may become a nice exercise. Otherwise if I have to use my thumb....I have a monster on.

Senko Rod
Like LC Man said, if you are looking for the best dedicated Senko rod, the BCR Senko rods series are up there. I have the GLX 864, highly recommend.

Powell rod user's
I have one of each but not in the same category. There is no way to compare the DX 704c to the Powell 7.11 H., one thing I like a lot is the hook keeper. Hopefully I'll get soon the 795 ML SB to have an even comparison. I just realized that I've ordered this rod 3 months ago >

Revo SX vs New Curado
I'll go with a Revo SX too. The new Curado, like the old Curado, you still have to take the reel apart every time you want to change your settings. I like Daiwas a lot but the Viento is the the one I would recommend in front of the Revo. Good luck.

Baitcaster Reel
I can only commend on the Quantums, I have fish them for many years and they are battle horse machines but the are heavy. If you are looking at the Tour, $ 239.00 for a 10.1 oz reel......I don't think so. For less than that money you can get a Daiwa Fuego at 7.4 oz or a Revo STX at 8.6 oz with at least similar features and performance, if not better. Good luck.

Powell rod user's
I have been using the 7.11 H for heavy swimbaits ( > 3 oz ) and I have nothing but good things to say in every aspect of its performance.

Ok guys!
I can't comment on the Falcon rods but if you choose to have a round reel, the Cardiff is a battle horse and one of the lightest, which is very important for me. Good luck

Jig Rod: Kistler or Daiwa
Like Flechero said. I pitch much more comfortable with a 7.0. I recently broke the tip of my LTA and the response of the CS was superb!!!! No questions asked.

New spinning reel needed
I'm with the Symetre too but I haven't fish any of the other....and probably never will.

something doesnt make sense>>>
Agree with you and share the same pain. BC reels were designed by a lefty ;D That is the only way that makes sense to me.

Best Baitcaster Under $250
Zillion or Revo STX ( specially if you don't fish lefty )

What is the point?

Strange Lures

Why is the reel handle on the right hand side?

Quantum accurist PT500
I think that this is the best low profile reel that Quantum has. I have put mine through Hell, it has scratches every where and still works great, probably the only Quantum bc that I will not ever sale. In the other hand it has 2 things that makes it not very competitive with today's reels; it is has a larger frame that feels even bigger when is on the reel seat, palming is not one of its best things, the other one is its weight, $ 130.00 is a lot to ask for a 9.1 oz reel. A thing I did is changing the handle to a TD-Z that weight 0.4 oz less and it has 4 ball bearings and better knobs ( I like them better ), makes the retrieve a lot of smoother. If I'm going to buy a reel today with that budget, I would get a Revo SX for another $ 20.00. Just my 2 cents.

How about this rod?
Exactly like Raul said. I'm not aware of any US swimbait rod either.

Line Snapping
Vanish is the only line that gave me trouble with every knot I tied with.

Attn: Shore Fishermen
Well, I'm one of the many that own a boat but love shore fishing too. Grossly about 60 % of my fishing time is from shore, just b/c my life style and natural resources makes it though. I fish pretty much year around and about 2-4 time a week, my tackle goes from 5.4-7.11, any kind of presentation but live bait ( I favorite big swimbaits ). By far I would not be able to enjoy that much if I would be restricted to boat fishing. Now, most of my fishing happening on my way to work or while working, and most of my lunkers also came on that time, most of my best fish came out from non-boating waters. jwo. a "successful fishermen" is a personal definition, how you enjoy the fishing experience is what it counts Good luck

Hi everyone, need some help, noisy bait caster.
Glad that your noise is gone. When casting light lures no many reels do better than the Alpha.
-
Scents? what do you use??
I put Megastrike on all soft plastics and poured swimbaits.

Senko trials 101
I fish them weightless most of the time but when the bite is tough....split shot them, I don't know if it change the action but whatever action is, catch fish.
