Do you use the same side retrieve (LH, RH) with both spinning and baitcasting gear?
BC, spinning and fly reels, all leftys.

GLoomis, Daiwa, E-21, St Croix

BC's round v/s Low profile
The only benefit that I see is line capacity, I use Cardiffs 201 and 301 for swimbaits.

Quantam Accurist
I also have one from that time, the CX 401, paint is damaged but functionally a 10/10

Quantum Energy,Catalyst,kinetic?
I have 2 Energy PTi, both with braid, 2-3 years old of continuous fishing. They are impeccables.

Airrus ULXS-701mh
I have 3 Airrus, one of them the UXLC701 MH that I bought 3 y/o. Made with top components, very sensitive and comfortable. It comes with 2 handles size and a handy balance port. Warranty is one of the best ( I have to use it and it was 100% my fault ). Negative point is their weight, heavier than average but still acceptable. Good choice, best luck with it.

Steez uses
The stock bearings are pretty good, probably ABEC 5 rate. I have tried VXB ABEC 7 and yes there is a bit of casting improvement...not much.

Quantum Code Red B/C Reel
Also with the Codes, Quantum changed the spool support configuration that they have on the Accurist, Energy, Tours and others, from the 2 frame bearings to one frame and one on the spool itself...like some Shimanos.

a question about spooling baitcasters
I have fillers in all my reels, doing similar to what RW said. I put about 25 % in backing.
-
Lube before or after use
Only when necessary. I have the same experience that Raul metinoned with the Cabelas's TD-Zs

P-line evolution
I like it a lot.....haven't bought another spool of CX or CXX since

The Best Reel Lubricants?
I also take care of mine, 90 % Daiwas. My best results over the past 3-4 years have been with RM Golden Lithium Grease and oil ( Shimano ). For ceramic bearings I found TG Rocket Fuel works best. Daiwa red is great for longer casting but doesn't last much.

where do i put the oil on my reel
Like the rest of the guys mentioned. In a reel that old, just oiling is not going to do much. It need complete disassemble, cleaning and grease and oil. Best is to send it to a reel mechanic. This video/dvd is well known for its simplicity and step by step instructions. It helped a lot when I started taking care of my own. http://www.lakeforktacklerepair.com/tips.htm Good luck

The Best Reel Lubricants?
- what brand flouro
I also have been trying a few of them ...over the years. So far BPS XPS- baitcaster for crankbaits
Neither. If I go Daiwas, my choices would be in between a Sol/Alpha or Zillion Crazy Cranker.....if I'm planning on really light lures, then Pixilla. If I go Shimanos.....none, I don't like them any way :-[- What is the best rod series out there regardless of price?
A bunch of them- New Baitcast Reel???
Any of the ones listed will be great......make sure it doesn't say Shimano anywhere.- Favorite Swimbait reel?
Daiwa TD-Z BBS- keeping the original reel boxes?
I keep mine too - what brand flouro
