Favorite Top Water Mono Or Co-Poly Line ?
20lb braid ? If I'm using mono for topwaters, I'm probably using Big Game.

A-Rig Midwest
Late fall, winter, early spring. Past prime A-rig time here.

Pro Gear Vs Our Gear
None of those baits are baits I'd fish with braid either, maybe I can win the Bassmaster Classic? Everything seems pretty standard as far as line size. I'd go with copolymer or mono for the for all of them except the jig, but I could get by with fluoro, just not my personal preference.

I've got a 30" kayak board, but I never bring it in the boat. It's 18.5" at the end of the board, if I'd put her on the board right and pinched her tail, probably a 19.25-19.5" smallmouth and obviously not missing any meals.

Refurb and demo rods
I have a St. Croix that was made for someone else that I got for $100 off, just has another persons name on it, but the fish don't know that. They do refurbs too, but it's in store only to my knowledge.

Crappie are spawning like crazy here right now. When they get like that it can be hard to even fish for bass. They'll attack anything and I get frustrated dealing with them. I took a different approach Thursday. I kept catching crappie, so I just started keeping them since my parents had been asking for some fish to eat. I didn't even have a crappie rod or bait, but a 1/16oz chartreuse Ned rig head with a Purple Death TRD TicklerZ was doing just fine. Every piece of wood I pitched at had crappie on it. I caught some jumbos, but tossed them back in favor of the easier to clean 10-12 inch males. Pretty much had forgotten about bass when I pitched to a stump in 2' of water on a secondary point and set into what I assumed was a drum, until it went airborne. Not a real fun fight in a stump field, I was pretty surprised to get to touch it really. Another smallie over 4, this one went 4.69lbs, I believe my 4th over 4 from Kansas this year? Crazy. Wasn't 2 minutes later I did it again, this time a 3.56. Kept all the crappie I could stand to clean with my cheap Wal-Mart knife. Filled a gallon bag most of the way up.

Keeping track of bass caught
I've been tracking total numbers of bass caught this year, no way I could get myself to track what each one is caught on though.

keeping fish alive in jon boat
I keep live bait alive with a power inverter plugged into my trucks 12V power source and an aquarium bubbler and put them in a big rubbermaid tub. Check your regulations as it's very possible that what you're attempting to do is prohibited. It's a very good way to ruin the balance of a pond or introduce diseases into a pond that weren't previously there.

Ned rig- straight braid?
Braid to a leader, for sink rate and abrasion resistance, not visibility.

7 foot hvy
I use mine for swim jigs and will also use it for frogs or a 130 plopper in a pinch.

The Vault
Yeah I'm use to old school bearings, repacking them a couple times a year and usually replacing the bearings, races, and seals every winter. I feel the tires after every trip to make sure they're not excessively hot and they've just been warm like is to be expected. Just makes me nervous not doing anything with them or having them serviced but I guess I'll give the tires a spin and try rocking them to make sure there's no wobble occasionally and just keep an eye on them. All too familiar with axle and bearing problems and not looking to deal with them again.

Morning Fishing, Avoiding Wind
I fish early all times of year. My best bite during the winter was very early in the morning until 8-10AM. Jerkbait has been a solid choice for me almost every day for me so far this year.

Your wheelhouse...
Football jig is great, I love counting rocks with football jig. I'd about rather just put it on the trailer than drag a rig though.

Repair guide on rod
Can't repair the ring. Replacing the guide is guide is the only way to go.

The Vault
Anyone have any experience with the Vault Hybrid Lubrication System? It's what is on my boat and it says it's maintenance free. I'm not sure how true that is and not wanting any bearing problems on the road somewhere. https://www.pacifictrailers.com/blogs/boat-trailer-tips-advice/the-vault-hybrid-lubrication-system?

Best soft plastics as of 2020!!
Guess I should add the Rage baits since a Menace in the Moonjuice color is what I caught my biggest smallie of the year on Saturday and another one of our 5 fish bag. Plus I caught another smallie over 4 on a Rage bug and a swinghead back in April.

H20 xpress premier rods
I believe my dad has the 7' M/F that he bought to replace his old Harold Ensley rod after it finally gave up a couple years ago. He's been really happy with it.
