  1. Agreed. You can see them moving down and back occasionally. They're extremely rough and hard. Those things are what really tears up your hands noodling.
  2. I'm using it for leader on all my spinning rods with braid. Very strong but supple. Pairs very nicely with my Flash Green Smackdown ?
  3. No issues with mine. Can't imagine any rod or reel makers anymore making a product that would be damaged by braid with it's popularity now.
  4. Bait finally showed up in the mail yesterday after a long quarantine in Japan. Took it out after work this morning and it got blasted right on the edge of some emerging water willows.
  5. It's been in quarantine for almost 2 months now since I ordered it right before the world went crazy. Finally showed up from Japan 2 days ago.
  6. The little Pad Crasher has been around for a while. There was a pretty good thread about micro or small frogs that ran for a good while a couple years ago I think that listed several small frog options. I've got a little Aqua Frog Pad Crasher Jr that is all chewed up.
  7. It's a Booyah Covert spinnerbait, I'd bet money on it. I've got 3 of them now and every single one looked like that. I looked at several off the shelves at BPS and almost all appeared to have some degree of rust on the hooks.
  8. Almost a heart shaped blotch on that smallie.
  9. After this mornings trip, I'm at 689 bass for the year. Hopefully be over the 1,000 mark after I get back from my week off work ?
  10. I've been relishing in the forecast for rain and potential storms my last few days off, kept a lot of people at home. These full parking lots on Wednesdays and Thursdays are really getting ridiculous.
  11. I wear Muck Rangers. One of their lower end boots that's waterproof and light enough to walk in.
  12. Separate them. I fish them mainly to imitate a craw but whatever a fish wants to think, as long as they think they're food. I usually fish mine with a 4/0 EWG hook and a 1/4oz bullet weight.
  13. Mine is supposed to be here Monday. Going on my buzzbait rod to replace the much bulkier original SD. Just in time for me to have a week off too.
  14. A rod with the right "tip", to really feel the vibration, enough backbone to drive the big, heavy hook home, and an even bend to fight heavy fish and keep them from ripping the hook out. I personally use a 6' 9" H/F Hammer Micro/6.3 Tatula TW SV/15lb P-line.
  15. Don't be too concerned about the splashes. There's times those splashes will actually attract fish. I've had plenty of times a fish will hit a big bait immediately on the splash down or shortly after the start of the retrieve.
  16. It's really not anything like a sinking jerkbait. It has a long, thin profile, the similarities end there. A spybait twitched like a jerkbait is going to do nothing but shoot forward and up quickly in a straight line, not dart and cut like a jerkbait. The attraction to a spybait comes from the subtle wobble during the sink and during the slow, steady retrieve.
  17. The Yomoma has that kind of gliding action like most beaver baits do. I have a 100pk and several of the smaller packs of them in my boat and a few of the 25pks of the creatures. Couldn't tell you how many fish I caught on the Yomomas the last few years since I started fishing them, but it's been a lot. I know I've won a few tournaments mostly off just them.
  18. The lake I was on is 7,000 acres and water temps were 57-59. They were extremely shallow. Didn't catch a fish deeper than 4' and most were less than 2' deep.
  19. Got some toothy ones this weekend. A sauger on a jig flipping a dock. Then a super dark saugeye on a Swimming Shiner off a mud point actually trying for them, not quite a keeper. Finally found one over 18" in 2' of water on a rocky point on the swimming shiner, just nipped at it ?
  20. I think the most species I've caught in a day was; White bass wiper walleye white crappie black crappie smallmouth bass largemouth bass yellow perch rainbow trout green sunfish drum bluegill channel catfish All caught on a jerkbait or Ned rig.
  21. No doubt, that's a warmouth.
  22. Got my tracking notification, supposed to be here Monday ?
