Any other musky/pike nuts here?
I love fishing for muskie, but we have none in the entire state in public waters. I have to drive a minimum of 3 hours to chase them and rarely get to make the drive to do it.

Spinning rod for JB
I have 2 that I use, 1 is a 6' 8" M H2O Ethos (favorite one). The other is an Okuma EVX 6' 10" M/F. They both do a nice job but the Ethos has a really nice even bend to it that keeps them stuck on the little hooks of the small jerkbaits I throw on it. I use the Okuma for tossing standard sized jerks when the wind gets too strong.

Is this crazy? I don't really have any other options...
Agree with this 100%. No way any HOA I've ever dealt with would allow something like that. Big part of why we moved to a neighborhood without one.

What is high wind for fishing?
Depends a lot on what you're fishing out of, and the body of water. In my kayak, it gets to be a pain above 10mph. In my boat, 20-25 on the bigger lakes, not really a limit on the small lakes. The wind is always blowing here though, so it's just something I have to deal with.

Well, I learned a valuable lesson with braid today
Haven't broke a rod with braid yet. Broken several with mono and fluoro though. Rods will break regardless of line type if you do something dumb with them is what I've found.

Does Anyone Make This Lure?
Can't remember if it rattles or not, but sounds a lot like a 6th Sense Movement 80X in all other listed criteria.
-
You can choose only one lure/tactic for the day...
I'd choose a Senko. About as versatile a bait as you can get and can be rigged a variety of ways and even when it's not the best choice, it will still usually catch some fish.

Red-eyed large
Not a rock bass, 100% largemouth with red eyes. I see them here sometimes too. Why does it happen? Nobody has ever really been sure and I don't really know why it matters? Maybe it's like people and fish just have different colored eyes for no real reason other than genetics? Red eyes are just likely a recessive trait in largemouth, hence why we don't see them as often as brown eyes. Just made that up but it sounds good ?

What Do You Bring For Lunch on the Water?
Bag of beef jerky and water. Use to be a couple PB&J's and a couple energy drinks but the diet has changed since all the weight loss.

Ditch pickle?
I've heard it many times and I'm a good ways from Florida. A lot of guys here call bass "bait".

Funniest or oddest thing spouse or friend has bought for you? Let’s have fun with this
I made fun of a bait at BPS once by acting like it was the greatest bait ever, guess what I got for my birthday from my wife? The Shad Chopper!

Moving to Kansas City - Best areas to live
Looks nice, you're about 5 minutes from my father in law's house in Shawnee. Royal Fence did our fence at our first house in Gardner, they did a good job for a reasonable price.

Is this crazy? I don't really have any other options...
I'd probably check with your apartment owners that they're going to be okay with you mounting the hoist and hauling the boat up there first.

"Luggage Scale" / Digital Scale - 1 Year Report
I've been using these scales for 3 or 4 years now. Longest I've had one last is 2 years and it's always been my fault (leaving them out in the rain or dropping them in the water), when they quit. I can say I did take one apart and cleaned it after it stopped and it came back to life, but for $6, it's easier to just buy a new one. They're very accurate, consistent, and inexpensive. I've got 2 in the boat, and 1 in my bank/kayak bag and a new one in the package at home. Add some grippers to the small hook, a wrap of electric tape to hold the battery cover on, and they're good to go.

Lucky Craft Pointers gone bad!!
Change out the hooks to different sizes, add a suspend dot under the chin, wrap some wire around the front hook, it's a pretty simple fix. The bait sitting nose up at 45* isn't something I'd worry about much honestly. If it was stopping with the tail straight down it would be different, but if you want to try to fix it, adding some weight to the front and/or removing some weight from the tail will do it.

Booyah Toad Runner
They miss it more often than plopper style baits, but I think that has to do with the fact it's a fairly quick moving bait that is fishing in fairly heavy cover making it difficult for fish to locate. I have found that the fish that miss it are almost always little ones. If you have a bait to follow up with they'll come back a lot of the time too so it makes a good bird dog.

Rigging a whopper plopper
I've never bought one that came with a split ring and there's no need for one, just something that could potentially fail while fighting a fish, especially with using straight braid. I use the 90 size a majority of the time and fish in a lot of wind (and waves). Adding anything extra to them isn't an option and I actually change the hooks out to reduce weight and make them ride higher.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Was at a lake again Thursday not known for smallmouth, apparently somebody forgot to tell them. Got my 3rd one of the year over 4, 4.16. Not sure I've ever done that. Most of them were on a 6th Sense Provoke 106 in the Pink Smash color, except the big one that ate a Mood Ring TRD Tickler on a 1/16oz Chartreuse Ned Rig head. Went out with the family for a few hours today and got the boys some fish reeling in.
