  1. Not sure what a barrel swivel would do to make it run straight? Tie directly to the snap/line tie is the only way I attach them.
  2. It would have to escalate quite a bit past what they were doing, but I've seen enough crazy to know how fast things go from bad to worse.
  3. Didn't say I'd shoot them, but you have the right to defend yourself and your property and how do you know all they're going to do is ram into the boat? Maybe they're going to try to jump into the boat to attack you? I'd do what I needed to though. Most people aren't going to try to continue their attack once a gun is pointing at them.
  4. Anyone know where I can get a Palmer's Hot Pot Trivot Replacement stand other than directly through Palmer's? One of the legs fell off my stand for my Hot Pot 2 so I'm needing a replacement.
  5. Those fools are lucky they didn't do that to someone with the mindset and equipment to put holes in them/their boat. I'd have had 16 .40 good reasons why that was a bad idea for them.
  6. Saw some tiny football jigs on TW and liked how they looked, so I decided I was going to make some of my own. 1/4oz with a 1/0 hook.
  7. I wouldn't sell all of them, but they've basically taken place of my squarebills, especially in the situation like what you've described. Lipless baits are a lot different than a bladed jig though, I couldn't get rid of them or even thin them down much. I've done really good running squarebills over the tops of grass if there's room, and ripping them through and out of grass also. They sound different, can have different color and profile. So while I much prefer the bladed jigs, squarebills still certainly have a place, even for someone like me that doesn't really enjoy fishing them.
  8. One of my best crank colors during the winter months is a red craw, despite the fact that the predominate forage in the lake is gizzard shad (I've actually never seen a live craw there), but the bass love that red.
  9. We need a "nope" button for that thing.
  10. 1/4-1/2 oz, usually black and blue, black and blue rage craw or sapphire blue Zman BatwingZ, the bigger size.
  11. I found both poppers, the jitterbug, and the spinnerbait all in the same tree. I like to call those "Jackpot trees".
  12. My obsession has only gotten worse with time. When you're thinking about your next trip, as you're driving home from fishing, you know it's bad.
  13. Getting to be the time of year when the banks are cleaner and the trees are bare, good lure finding conditions. This morning was pretty decent.
  14. Water temps were only 41-43, and the 20+mph south wind wasn't helping me hold the bait still on the pause like I needed to, but I still managed to catch several after work. Most were dinks like they usually are out of this lake, but the first one was a better quality fish than it usually gives up. They were really smacking it if I could let it sit long enough.
  15. Idk how long ours has been up, but over a week now. Just 8 more days til Thanksgiving! Going through some old pictures, found one I snapped of the pond I caught my PB swimbait fish out of, and yes this is almost the entire pond in the picture. You never know where you'll find big fish living if you don't try.
  16. They seemed to have confused that "decoy" with what is actually a target, but I wouldn't expect a news reporter to know anything crazy like details or facts.
  17. I throw a jerkbait 95% of the time and just fish it with soft twitches and long pauses. Banks with steep drops and rock are usually my most productive. Last year, while I was throwing a jerkbait, I also let a float-n-fly drift along just past the drop I was fishing and caught several fish doing that as well. Dragging a shakyhead can be good but tends to snag a lot from the shore it seems. If you're fishing a pond with shallow water, I'd never be afraid to try a single Colorado bladed spinnerbait or lipless crank either.
  18. All the room in my back seat, but Chloe can't ever seem to let Cassidee have her own space. They both like the passenger window for some reason. Cassidee just deals with her, occasionally giving me the "Dad, would you get her off me?" looks.
  19. I'll be trying it. I like their braid, even if it's just the harder leader material. That could be great for all the dang zebra mussels I deal with.
  20. I haven't tried the long cast but I couldn't imagine needing to cast further than I can with my 100.
  21. Depends on your definition of "cheap". Sometimes cheap doesn't equal a value. A bait that is really effective but cost a couple bucks more is worth it IMO. The Academy H2O lineup is some of the best value baits out there.
  22. He was well out past his ears and a very symmetrical 10 pointer with good mass and tall. I took a video as I was idling past but couldn't really tell anything more from it than you can from that picture.
  23. The 2 DSG closest to me don't have any fishing gear, maybe that one doesn't either. When I see things like this out fishing, it makes me miss deer hunting
  24. Agree with the small tackle box. I got my son one this year and filled it with assorted plastics, bobbers, and a few little baits and he loves taking the trays out and looking at all his lures. The whole thing ran me less than $10 but he's proud of it.
