So what did you get?
I got a couple Plano Edge boxes and a couple Plano bait wraps for my swimbaits. Mostly got a lot of clothes because my wife is tired of me wearing all my old clothes that about fall off of me now.

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone! It was a good day. My boys had a blast, my wife was happy with what I got her, and I was able to sleep for the first time in almost 3 days so I actually feel a little better for work tonight.

Fishmas Gifts 2019
I got a couple new Plano Edge boxes, some Plano bait wraps for my swimbaits, and some new Muck boots to replace mine that aren't as waterproof as they use to be for my winter time fishing.

First baitcasting rod/reel consideration ( Okuma Scott TCS )
I have that exact rod (TCS 7' 3" H/F). I feel like the specs are probably a bit on the high side for what the rod is actually capable of handling. It makes a great jig rod and pitching rod, which is what I use it for. I believe you'd be struggling to fish anything much over 1.25oz with it though. It's a great rod though, one of my favorite bottom contact rods I carry in the boat.

Making your own bladed swim jig
FWIW, I modified a mold so I can pour my bait with the blade already on the eye.

Time of day curious
I normally have a good morning bite, then it slows down around lunch and picks back up in the afternoon.

Large Bass Come Off Crappie Jigs, What is Going On?
When you say the jig comes off, do you mean the fish is coming unhooked, or you're losing the whole jig? A small hook can hold a bass with the right equipment and as long as you don't rush them during the fight. A #4 hook is a little more typical of a crappie jig sized hook, you might try upgraded to something like that and see if it helps.

Soft Stick Bait Set Up For Shaky Head ?
5" BPS Stick O, 1/16oz homemade screwlock head. The bait itself is heavy, it doesn't need a bunch of additional weight. That tiny lead just glides it along the bottom and keeps it from hanging too much.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Too nice out and too many people off work for the holiday, but after being stuck inside for a few days and just laying in bed with the flu, it was nice getting out and catching some little ones.

Overfished pond
A friend of mine had a tiny pond on their property that his dad swore had no fish. First time we fished it, we caught at least 30 with a lot of them in the 3-5 pound range. We went several times the next couple weeks and the fishing got tougher and tougher until it was a struggle to get a bite at all, even from those fish that had never been fished for before. We left the pond alone for a couple weeks and tried it again, and it was on again, including a 7 pounder. So we learned to not go back more than once every couple of weeks and the pond continues to fish great. It's very possible to over fish and educate those fish in a small body of water.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Got ya. I don't fish tournaments often and have never bought a bass pass so I don't ever think about that. In the spring I can usually get a limit of fish over 18" in a day out there, but they get scarce during the winter.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
That's a lot of keepers on an 18" lake! I'm usually lucky to get 2 or 3 during the winter months out there.

Minnow rigs
Are you fishing for bass? The size of the hook will depend on the size of the baitfish you're using. A small slip float is usually best for suspending a bait off the bottom while offering minimal resistance when the fish swims off.

Jerkbait newbie question
x2, the Rapala jerkbaits have been less than impressive for me and I love jerkbaits. I've done well with the smaller Xraps in ponds but that's it.

The smaller size Shine Glide is solid, as is their Pulse tail trout and I'm sure their other new pulse tail offerings will be as well. FishLab Bio Gill wake baits were great for me last year and the jointed and glides produced as well.- Anybody bass with Hot-N-Tots?
They're popular walleye trolling baits here. I've tried casting them for bass and never had any luck. - dabbling into swimbait's
