  1. Second time this season Chiefs have scored 28 points in a quarter. Glad they have a D-coordinator who makes adjustments, 21 points in the first quarter, then 3 in the second, 7 in the 3rd, and 0 in the 4th. The special team miscues are concerning, because it's been an issue all year. No idea why they put Hill back on a punt when Hardman has been so good at returns, and that's the 3rd? blocked punt they've had this year I believe. Not very confident in their ability to slow Henry down next week, but they can score with anyone.
  2. 6' 8" M/F Mojo/President XT 30, 20lb Smackdown main line to 8lb AbrasX leader.
  3. Always love seeing that they're eating good during the winter months.
  4. What size baits are you throwing? I use a Dobyn's Fury 795 for a lot of mine but most of the baits I'm fishing are glides and wakes in the 2-4oz range.
  5. Thanks, been working hard to keep it off through the holidays and have done a good job of it. Weird seeing pictures of myself without the round face and double chin. Thanks again, I was working hard for them I promise. The net is a Frabill Power Extend 1821 https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-FRABILL.html?from=basres -Hoop size: 18” x 21” -Handle length: 38” – 72” It's a hefty beast, but for guys like you and I that tend to run into large fish of other species, a beefy net is not a bad thing at all. There's also no concern of the net handle pulling out of the hoop at the worst time, like fighting a new PB smallmouth on light line last spring ? . The other net feature that I wasn't sure how useful it would be that I've actually really enjoyed is the built in LED light and lift assist for night fishing and lifting those XL sized catches. 15lbs of angry whisker fish fit in it easily and the light made locating and scooping in the dark much easier than relying on my headlamp.
  6. Titans playing old school, smash mouth football. Run, run, and then run again. Nobody wants to tackle that runaway freight train. Defense playing well, and Tannehill doing just enough and making smart decisions to help and not hurt his team. If KC wins tomorrow, that's going to be a TOUGH AFC Championship game that I do not like the Chief's odds in. Their defense is much improved, except in run defense, and that could be a 6'3" 247lb problem. The narrative that Henry is going to "wear down" I think is a bit worn out at this point too.
  7. I wasn't in the teeth of it, but it was plenty strong where I was. I'm use to the wind, so that helps. And despite all that wind, I didn't deep hook and kill any fish on a Ned rig ?
  8. I had the chest camera going, maybe that video will help you a little. Swan was tough Thursday. 8 hours for 6 bites, landed 5 for 17.88 total. 3 legit keepers, 2 bass pass fish.
  9. Tough conditions Thursday, but it was my first chance to go in a week and a half so I was going. Dirty water, 30+mph straight winds, and a recent major raise in the lake made it a grind. 8 hours for 6 bites, 5 fish, just shy of 18lbs. Ned rig and shakyhead.
  10. Yeah, I tell everyone there's no bass in Kansas. It's not known for it's bass fishing, but every once in a while I'll still catch one or two. Even caught a few Thursday.
  11. Darter head for me on that sized swimbait.
  12. I see way more people on my weekdays off on the water than I ever have. It use to be unusual to see another person, now it's not unusual to see 3-5 boats on a small lake and 10 or more on a large reservoir. Maybe the job market is different, giving people different days off so I'm just seeing it more, but there doesn't seem to be any decrease to me.
  13. KGB Chad Shad, $120 shipped
  14. IMO, it's hands down the best answer here. Fits the needed specs for the rod, fishes great on 8-10 lb line, isn't overly expensive, and it's just a sweet little bait. Keitech's are awesome, but they kind of lose that "swimbait" feel to me when you get that small. I'd still get some of them for sure, but that little Baby Bull Shad is just a fun bait that catches all sizes.
  15. I like it. My battery powered line stripper is about worn out and that would be a buy once, cry once solution.
  16. I don't know if you'd get $250 for it, but I bet you'd get $150 pretty easily. How do people fish these? Wake? Crank? Yes, add in twitching like a jerkbait, stop and go like a crank, it's a really versatile bait, part of why it's so sought after.
  17. Small, suspending jerkbaits are my go to bait from the bank in the winter months.
  18. Got on the board for 2020. Ice around a lot of the edge of the pond but saw several fish spook off the bank while I was walking around and even saw a couple turtles crawling around on the bottom under the ice. Really slowly working a 65 pointer tricked a few.
  19. Picked up a couple Falcon Bucoo Sr rods this winter and really like them so far. The Daiwa Arid X is a great rod for well under your price range. If you have an Academy close, their H2O line is really nice and also well under your price range. The Okuma TCS is an awesome rod that is normally right at your budget but you can find them on sale all over right now.
  20. There's a small tupperware storage container that holds the 2oz packs pretty perfectly.
  21. Warts are great winter cranks where they're eating craws. When the water is really cold, it's almost more like quickly dragging a jig than it is fishing a crank.
  22. It isn't a must, but it will make it much easier. A fully set up A-rig gets heavy and is taxing to fish for an extended period of time. Plus, unless you swap reels, your frog rod likely has a high speed reel on it, while an A-rig is typically fished very slowly so you'll really have to focus to slow yourself down enough.
  23. I like the 6th Sense baits but bill durability has been an issue for me. Not even when fishing them either. I had a Flat 75X with a broken bill when I took it out of my box a few weeks ago and it's not the first one that's happened to. Seems the Flat 75X has been the worst offender. Hasn't been bad enough to keep me from buying them, but something to consider for someone just getting into it. Strike King or H2O is the best bang for your buck IMO. I'd highly suggest having a #5 or #7 Shad Rap in the mix too.
