  1. Welcome!
  2. As a lifelong Chief's fan, obviously rooting for them, but I can't hate the Titans and I really enjoy watching how they're playing and winning games.
  3. I never catch anything off that bank ?‍♂️ of course yesterday I didn't catch much of anything off anything.
  4. The rooster is the crazy one, I guarantee that.
  5. Googan Squad didn't make or come up with anything. They're buying mass produced products and adding their own little tweaks, calling it "innovative" or "lit" or whatever the kids are saying these days. Difference is, they have hundreds of thousands of followers that will buy whatever junk they're selling because they tell them to buy it. It's going to be tough to just produce a whole lineup of baits that aren't the same as everything else out there, and why is everyone going to want to buy your baits over Strike King, Rapala, or Lucky Craft?
  6. Just like a huge bass, huge catfish will often try to get the best bang for their buck meal item possible. In a lot of cases, that's going to be something much larger than even the biggest bass can handle. A 50lb flathead or blue can gulp down a 5-7 pound carp like it's nothing, and go looking for more. Catfish tend to eat a lot of rough fish as well (carp, drum, buffalo, other catfish), along with the shad, herring, and panfish. I'm a bass fisherman first, but I love catching big cats too. I'll keep smaller ones if someone is with me and wants to clean them, but the big ones go back. I've never caught a 100 pounder, but I've caught some over 60, and they were all released.
  7. I wish we had big browns here. They're so much fun to catch, especially on jerkbaits. I have a feeling that a big part of my love for jerkbaits, is because they seem to catch everything, and big versions of everything.
  8. I don't know if there's really any way to say. IMO, if you catch enough to fill a cooler that size, wouldn't that be enough fish to eat that day? I'd think you'd be able to stack 15 panfish in there, but if you can "only" fit a dozen, is that a deal breaker? I guess that's up for you to decide.
  9. LMB-10lb 2oz SMB-5.82lbs
  10. It's weird how they've overrun that river like they have, but they're in the Mississippi, Missouri, and Kansas rivers, have been for a couple decades now, but the fish populations have learned to live with them (see also, eat them). Can't find many shad anymore, but man is everything in the river fat and happy and packed full of baby Asian carp (or adult carp in the case of big flatheads and blue cats).
  11. Was that with a hook that had a weedguard? There still is some force, like you a said a little "pop", required, just not the massive worm hookset I've seen too many times on a wacky rig that often results in the line parting on the hookset. The "lift", I'm referring to, is a bit of a snap/pop of the wrist to drive the hook in and then just keep the line tight.
  12. Sissy shad is a solid color. I assume sissy crappie would be as well.
  13. IMO, weedless wacky hooks are horrible. Hookup ratio goes way down with them and it's not a bait that's to be thrown in heavy cover or has a tendency to hang up a lot when it does come in contact with sparse cover anyways so it's really a waste. The hook tends to ride with the point up and will slide over cover if you're careful. All my opinion, but I do fish a wacky rig a lot, so it's with a lot of trial and error that I'm saying that. Take it easy on the hookset. It's really just a reel and lift like a dropshot when you have the right setup.
  14. Kalin's and Yamamoto 3-5 inch grubs on 1/8-3/8oz darter heads. Simple and effective.
  15. SK Tungsten 2tap, Delta Red, 6.5lb largemouth Duo Realis Rozante 77, Neo Pearl, 5.83lb smallmouth (PB)
  16. Like just a regular straight worm? Or any kind or worm like curl tail worms included? A Scuppernog Zoom Mag II worm is always a solid choice for me. Straight tail would probably be a Berkley Ring Snake in Pumpkinseed or YUM Warning Shot in Oxblood Red Flake.
  17. I caught a bike and a nice dive knife. I think the bike had either been stolen and thrown in the lake or maybe a kid wanted a new one so they threw it in the lake because it had to be thrown where it was, no way it fell in that far out. The dive knife I'm sure was from the fire rescue dive team that practices diving in the lake frequently.
  18. Yeah, that's my little sister. She probably wasn't happy about eating fish for dinner again. Wasn't her or my mom's favorite, but it was the best way to get several meals for cheap, so we ate it a ton, which is probably why I no longer have a taste for it. I'd caught all but the biggest fish on the stringer, I was pretty excited about that, and the stringer was heavy, which was always a good thing. I would have been 5 or 6 in the picture, but pretty well knew what I was doing already.
  19. One of my favorite kinds of fishing growing up was wading creeks for catfish with my dad. We'd use punch bait on pieces of sponge and drift it in the heads of the riffles. I remember this day because my dad had a mid 20lb flathead cruise between his legs when he got too close to the rock ledge it was hiding under and the fish we caught were much larger than normal.
  20. I hate it when I set the hook, have a heavy fish for a headshake or two, then it's gone. No telling what, or how big they are when that happens.
  21. I heard the Ned Rig was going to kill them all?
  22. Titans have been a problem even when the Chiefs were clearly the better team. This time the Titans are playing hot and playing their game. Everyone keeps saying "All you have to do is stop Henry and they have nothing else". Well everyone knows that he's getting the ball and it doesn't seem to make a difference, the guy is a freak of nature with that size, speed, and balance. Last time it came down to the final play, wouldn't be surprised if it happened again this time.
  23. It was a big part of why I switched from Shimano to Daiwa.
