  1. 39-40 is when I start throwing them (successfully), here.

Not sure if it's still made but the Lucky Craft Spazz runs really shallow. I think there's a shallow running Lucky Craft pointer too.
  3. I've a lot of bass and several walleye on cutbait including largemouth up to 6.5lbs. I agree with @scaleface that it's typically not presented in a way or area that's appealing to bass. I fish it weigweightless and hop it along grass edges and rocky shorelines though and bass will sometimes outnumber the catfish.
  4. Those are my 2 favorites of the non-plopper type baits. I've got a R2S Lane Changer and Big Mistake that seem like nice baits, but got them late in the season and haven't put them to any real use yet to say if they're worth it or not. I bought them both for about 1/3 their regular price, I believe they'll be worth what I paid at least.
  5. I've also got a Dual Pro 3 bank. Not cheap, but not something to try to go cheap on either imo.
  6. Doesn't matter so much what knot you tie, as long as you tie it right. Lots of good ones out there, but a poorly tied knot is going to fail.
  7. Be interesting if they do it now, or if they wait until the CBA to see if they do in fact have a clause to make the QB's pay off the books where he could possibly get even more than that. Still has 1 more year on his rookie deal and a 5th year option, although they obviously aren't going to take it to that extreme, but I mean the guy pretty much gets to name his price at this point because if they Chiefs don't pay him another team will.
  8. I used some for frogging. I really don't think it made any difference since it's on the surface or on top of the slop. They're either seeing a thin outline, or nothing at all.
  9. Haven't used that particular one but the 7' MH Shock is a really solid budget cranking rod. I've used it a fair amount with lipless and shallow running cranks.
  10. No, the switch on my console has the option to run just the back light or both and I have a switch on the front to run just the front or both. So I just run the back light and have never had an issue with it draining power.
  11. That's pretty simple. I'm not the most computer savvy but other than the time it takes my old laptop to upload the videos, it's usually about 10-15 minutes of editing out all the nothingness and piecing together the good parts.
  12. I video my trips because I don't have the patience to write everything down.
  13. I've got the Yolotek powerstick and a Garmin Virb that I mount on top of it and run it with a remote that straps on my wrist.
  14. Stupid part is I wasn't even fishing. I was rigging up tackle to go fishing the next day and had taken this 110 off my rod and put a different one on, but when I put it in my jerkbait box I managed to close the lid over the split ring with the treble hanging out the back of the tackle tray. So when I dropped the tray back in my boats storage, BAM! Thankfully the weight of the tray pulled/pushed the hook through as far as it did. I'd been working on it for a minute when I stopped to take the picture. I was sweating quite a bit despite it being in the 30's, needed a little "don't pass out" break.
  15. I actually went with 20lb because the stuff is so thin. Got a brand new spool of 20lb Flash Green to put on as soon as things aren't so frosty around here.
  16. Alberto for the leader, Palomar for the knot to the jighead.
  17. The line trick works great for removing hooks, until it's an outbarb. It took way more trying and way more force than I expected to push it the rest of the way through and pinch the barb down. My skin did more tearing than the barb did pushing through. Having the hook in my dominate hand and trying to push and twist with my offhand was not helping.
  18. Not from up there, but it seems like the yellow perch would be a pretty solid choice. Lite Trout is a good color here, despite there not being trout in our lakes except when they stock them early and late in the year in select lakes.
  19. Titanium spinnerbaits are going to outlast any stainless steel spinnerbait unless there's a flaw in the metal somewhere. I've never had a spinnerbait survive long enough to say they're still the same.
  20. The odds of your bait falling and landing perfectly to sit with the bait presented up, even with a "standup" style head, is so small it isn't worth it imo. If you want the bait to stand up, you have to go with a floating worm. I don't worry about it personally and catch a lot of fish on a shakyhead. Not many prey animals stand up from the bottom and try to make themselves seen, but bass still have no problem finding them.
  21. I work in detention, mainly what I've done for the whole 13+ years now. I'm one of the crazies that would rather work detention than on the road. I get paid the same, and I've never been shot at ?‍♂️ Plus I don't have to deal with freezing cold temps in the winter and triple digit heat in the summer.
  22. I would love to guide full time but the lack of retirement and health benefits to support my family keeps me from doing it. Game Warden was always something interesting to me, as well as law enforcement in general. Started working in a detention facility at 21, moved to a different department at 23 and became a certified LEO (deputy). Now a Master Deputy after 10 years. Only 17 more years to go.
