  1. Tacklewarehouse has quite a few in stock now as well. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/6th_Sense_Quake_Suspending_Lipless_Crankbait/descpage-QSUS.html This is a larger rattle bait, much larger than a regular 1/2oz trap, but doesn't feel much heavier despite it saying it's nearly an ounce. Just an FYI for anyone that wants a bait with a smaller profile, this ain't it.
  2. Quickly becoming a big fan of the Suspending Quake.
  3. It's interesting to track your yearly totals like this to get an actual idea of how many fish you catch in a year. I did it several years ago and I'm trying to do it again this year.
  4. I've got a couple pairs of Costas that I really like, just wish the glass was a little lighter. Had a pair of Revos I liked too but I broke them Saturday ?
  5. Northern bass are the slowest growing and longest living. Some have been found to be nearing 20 years old. Yours is quite likely 10 years old or even older. IMO, the lateral line doesn't look the same on the 2 fish, especially towards the back half of the second fish where the look more like the lines on a heart rate monitor and the first fish is about a flat line.
  6. I don't miss many frog bites, and I don't wait after the bite either. If the bait is gone after the blowup, the fish has it. They don't have hands, so unless it landed on top of it, it's in his mouth. IMO, waiting just gives them more time to spit it or bury up in the slop and make getting a solid hook set more difficult. Still going to miss some, it's part of the game, but I hook a vast majority of them since I started swinging as soon as I see the frog is gone. I have the worst luck with tubes getting a solid hook set, especially if I'm fishing a stupid tube rig. It works great to get bites,
  7. Baitfish don't become brighter and suddenly put out more vibration to make themselves easier to find just because the water gets dirty but the bass still manage to find them. If you're planning on throwing big baits, send it. They're going to displace a lot of water and have a bigger profile than most anything else you'd throw.
  8. Flipping my kayak in front of a bunch of people during trout opener is up there pretty high. This one is up there too.
  9. The newer model of President is not near the quality of the President of old. I bought one not long ago and really regret the purchase. I've been switching my lower end spinning reels to Daiwa Revros and really wish I'd have bought one of those instead of the President as they're very nice reels and even cheaper than the President.
  10. Can't say I've ever personally used or owned one, but a couple of my buddies have. They didn't own them very long as they seemed to be largely junk, the rods and the reels.
  11. I've done best with a baby brush hog on a bubba shot.
  12. There is one that does that, but one doesn't allow hunting, and then this one allows both but doesn't close during waterfowl or deer season. Most people hunt up the river and backs of coves anyways, but I've had a couple of the open lake hunters sprinkle some pellets around the boat.
  13. A disappointing mirror carp, and giant white bass were my only two "other" fish yesterday.
  14. Couldn't sleep, really was too cold to go fishing in the dark, but what else was I going to do?
  15. I have to do the same. Every few cast I have to dip my rod in the water and blow in the reels line guide to clear the ice. It's even worse here because the steam freezes to everything and makes it ice up faster.
  16. I use a Fury 795 for 7" Slammers and other wakes.
  17. FYI, they don't float ?‍♂️
  18. Straight reeling a worm is how my dad fishes them 75% of the time. I do it sometimes with curl tail and ribbon tail worms, and all the time with speed worms and cutR worms.
  19. Welcome!
  20. Both of my normal days off I got scheduled for training this week (yay!), but thankfully I have a wife that is understanding and saw that the weather was supposed to be nice on Saturday when I was scheduled to have a partial day off to keep me from breaking policy for working too many days in a row, who told me to go fishing. Kind of got the crud right now and couldn't sleep real well. Woke up at 3, laid in bed until 3:30 and gave up trying because it wasn't happening. Tied up some bait orders I had and took off for the lake a little before 5 in the 19* air. Beautiful full moon was shining down on the clear night, and the power plant always looks like something from another planet on a clear night. Had a little while before the sun was going to be up, so I decided to try the outlet where the water was the warmest. Haven't caught anything at all there this winter, but my second cast with a shallow flicker shad my rod loaded up on a heavy fish and the fight was on for the next few minutes. Hard to tell in the dark, hoping for a big bass but was guessing it was a wiper. Then it got close to the boat and I saw it was coming in sideways, I knew it was a carp then. One neat thing was it turned out to be a mirror carp, don't see them too often. Nothing else at the outlet, fished along to one of my favorite little points that has a lot of rock and wood that can't be seen above the water. Lots of shad were flipping, started pulling the suspending 6th Sense Quake and had a little guy load up. Had another one crush it on the pause that didn't hook up, then several cast later when I paused it not far from the boat, it got inhaled. Nothing else going on there beside a couple swipes and misses. Moved to a steep rock bank and wasn't too long before I caught a little one on a jerkbait. A couple cast later, I got another good one on the jerkbait. Something about that little 20 yard stretch had them piled up, I caught 8 of my 12 fish right there on a jerkbait or crankbait, including another one that was super fat. The bite started to slow down and the other boats started showing up since it was getting close to being above freezing I guess. Went back to my point again and first cast with a jerkbait, caught one of the biggest white bass I've ever caught from this lake and one of my biggest white bass ever. Didn't weight it, but around 17" is a huge white bass and it makes the SK 300 jerkbait look little. Went and fished a long riprap bank trying to decide how long I was going to stay since I needed to get some sleep before work. Switched back and forth between the jerkbait and crankbait without anything happening. Wind had died completely, sun was getting high, not good conditions on this lake so I was thinking about going and getting some sleep. Made a cast with the Frittside and noticed a swirl about halfway back to the boat like a fish had tried for my bait and missed. Made another cast and a heavy fish loaded up. Got her to the boat, and she was hooked right in the tail? Don't know if she was swiping and missed the bait, maybe it popped out during the fight and got hooked in the tail, or just plain got snagged in the tail, but I'll take fat 5.5 pounders however they want to come to the boat. I piddled around about another hour before I headed home. Lake was getting busy, and I was tired.
  21. Just got my 3000cxh in the mail yesterday and already have a 2500. Looking forward to trying it out.
  22. 7' mh lightning rod shock is what I use for both bank fishing or from my kayak.
