Pliers
I have some aluminum H2O pliers with titanium side cutters from Academy, I believe they're 7" pliers. They've been really nice and I really like that they don't get hot when the sun is beating down on them like I thought they might. The cutters cut any kind of line with ease too. My only complaint is the tip of the pliers isn't overly thin, so it can be difficult to remove the hook from a smaller fish if it's deeply hooked.

Post a photo a day!
Not this time, we bought these tickets a long time ago at a discount when they were on "presale", whatever that is.

Most of them are from Jacomo except the big frog fish, that's from Middle Creek.

Post a photo a day!
Took our boys to Monster Jam at Arrowhead Stadium this weekend. They had a blast and it was really a great show. Lots of good drivers doing some good stunts and racing in those big trucks.

Are Yeti Coolers Worth The Money?
I have a big Ozark Trail/Yeti KO cooler. That thing keeps ice for days, but I bet it weighs at least 25lbs empty. I only paid $70 for it, and the amount of hassle it saves me not having to buy ice every day has made it very well worth the investment to me. No way I'd ever spend what Yeti wants for their coolers though.

Did something stupid
Run the vacuum into the middle of them next time. My dogs will try to run through the wall if I run the vacuum at them.

Bonus fish
I've caught enough big flatheads on jigs to know what it is before I set the hook. When they inhale a jig, it feels like someone grabbed your line and jerked your rod down, there's no mistaking it. If I had the video going on the bite, I even said "that's a flathead", before I ever set the hook. Only took about 10 minutes to land. Still the lake record as far as I know.

Had another extended weekend this week and got out a few times because of it. Caught a ton of fish, especially on my first night fishing adventure of the year. Several fish over 4 pounds in the process.

Ozark or Table Rock?
Table Rock can be difficult, but IMO, the techniques that work best are easier to use than what works well on LOZ. I just was at Table Rock a little over week ago and my 5 year old caught several fish on a 3" salt and pepper grub on a jig head just casting it out and reeling it in slowly. A Ned rig also works great and is very easy to fish, as well as a dropshot with a small worm or night crawlers.

No and it's actually a great night fishing lake at times. I have a guide trip there Friday, hoping they bite better than they did Thursday.

Working on more swim jigs
I believe it's smallmouth magic. It's a Lake Champlain Lures bait. I had my client last night fishing one of your swim jigs through the water willows and he whacked a couple solid fish doing it. He couldn't believe he could throw a bait right into the middle of all the grass and just reel it back through without it hanging up. Got another guide trip today, hoping it will work again today.

Post a photo a day!
We went on the golf cart tour through Lost Canyon Park at Top of the Rock this past weekend while we were at Table Rock. I felt like I should have brought a couple rods for a couple of these pools.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
I was there for a guide trip this evening, only 1 other boat, I imagine it was due to the forecast storms that dumped rain on us shortly after we started but only lasted about 20 minutes. Fish were biting pretty good though. Unfortunately my biggest of the night was a rare skinny fish from there.

I need a durable rod for under 150$
Berkley Lightning Rod Shock. They're durable and surprisingly sensitive and way under your budget. I have several I use for fishing from the bank and my kayak.
