  1. I keep it simple at night. I like to fish a bladed jig, usually solid blue, black and blue, or green pumpkin, a jig in the same colors, a single Colorado bladed spinnerbait in black, black and blue, or black and red, or a big worm in a dark color. The exception is when the moon is bright, then I fish the same colors I do during daytime hours. I've had much better luck with white bladed jigs or spinnerbaits on full moon nights than I have with the normal dark colors. I don't like trebles at night so I don't fish them often unless it's a big wake bait or crawler that I can just crank into the fish when they bite. I've had to dodge too many baits I couldn't see, plus unhooking fish on trebles is tricky enough in the daylight. You can still pitch into cover at night, but generally bass roam more at night, so it's usually not as effective because they get out of that thick stuff and roam the edges more. You might try switching to a lighter weight and pitching the same bait to the edges of the cover though.
  2. It's a simple equation for me; flipping with braid=flipping hook flipping with anything else=EWG hook Not sure why, but I can't get a good hookup with a straight shank flipping hook on anything except braid. Switch to braid and my hookup ratio isn't good with an EWG but it's excellent with a straight shank.
  3. I've had some odd color combination request myself. No idea what this one was supposed to imitate.
  4. Catfish, drum, and white bass are the worst here. Catfish and drum usually fool me into thinking I've got a good bass for a few seconds until I start to feel the fight. White bass are so aggressive that when they're really biting it can be hard to catch anything else at times.
  5. Chloe wishing that sliding glass door wasn't between her and all those tasty looking tweety birds.
  6. If they're breaking city code you should have a code enforcement officer you can call. They're not supposed to tell who called for public safety reasons. We had some pretty bad ones at our last house. Lucky to have pretty great neighbors all around now. Just one lady that wants to be left alone, so we leave each other alone and get along just fine. All the rest are typical county neighbors, we all help each other out and it's almost more like family than neighbors.
  7. Of those two, I'd go with mono, but I personally prefer copolymer for spinnerbaits.
  8. Our fish like the chartreuse highlights in a jig because of the dirty water, I'd fish it.
  9. They make a KO Vixen blank. No way I'd buy one unless I was 100% sure it was an original.
  10. Wind I'll fish in. Cold I'll fish in. Cold and windy, I'm out. Cold for me is below 30 because that's when guides start to ice up and make fishing difficult. If it's not too windy I can deal with that, I've fished in single digits more than once when the wind wasn't blowing and it's not bad. Toss in a 15mph wind though, I'll probably just sit in my shop and make baits instead.
  11. It gets really busy on the weekends at times but the worst times are during the summer months when the lake fishes the worse. That's when the pontoon cruisers come out and wake the lake up bad. You can hide back in the coves but there's usually not many fish back there in the summer months except early and late. It's an excellent lake early and late in the year though. I'd still fish it without a doubt if I lived closer. You can look through this long running thread we had going for awhile all about the lake.
  12. One 3730, a deeper 3700 box, and that's all the crankbaits I carry, shallow, medium, and deep divers.
  13. I make up for it by only carrying one box of crankbaits ?
  14. I don't understand the Flacco deal. Look at the stats, they're almost the exact same, except Flacco is older and more injury prone. I'd think that money and draft pick would have been much better suited building up the rest of the team.
  15. Not for long because they rust hooks fast and will turn the whole inside of the bag nasty. If you use a hook with a wire keeper there is no need to glue them or store them on the hook.
  16. Lots of deals, lots of pros and experts to talk to, maybe some free samples (never saw any free Bourbon samples either time I went but maybe I missed them), and lots of not yet released items for sale before anyone else has a chance to buy them. I'd go, neve know when you might get another chance to.
  17. Their jointed soft swimbaits are very fluid and natural looking, I like them a lot as well. They reinforce the joints too so they're very durable despite looking like they'd break easily. Pretty much all swimbaits are going to require specialized gear but you can get a good setup for a reasonable price.
  18. Yes, they're a bit more durable too which is a bonus. The Ocho. Like someone else mentioned, the Zero is the Strike King version of the Zinkerz.
  19. Not sure about that one but I have one of the older full cork models that was their C rig LTB rod at the time I'd sell if you're interested. It's a telescoping rod, 7' 6" MH/F
  20. Daiwa, Okuma, and Pflueger are my favorites but most everyone makes a good reel anymore. Quantum reels aren't bad, but they never seem to stay smooth long or developed issues after a year or two so I don't buy them anymore. KVD seems to get by with them, so there's that.
  21. It's the 6" 1.75oz bait. There's also an 8" and a 10". They were just released and aren't widely available yet. It's soft but no joints, only the tail moves and it does so even at very slow speeds. Big bonus that it's a line thru and you have the option to rig the hook on the top or the bottom. Bass pro has them in stock on their website oddly enough. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/savage-gear-4d-pulse-tail-swimbait
  22. I have seen water that was only muddy near the surface but that's usually with heavy runoff.
  23. Wow, that looks so much like a fancied up Pure Poison (sold for 4.99), it's uncanny. That's going to be a hard pass from me for $11. The blade is maybe slightly different? Rest looks the exact same.
  24. Sure, Rage swimmer is great too and I use both. They're probably a better option because they're a touch more durable. Hi-SEAS Grand Slam is excellent and affordable. Pline CXX is great too.
