Dropping water level and cold front
We ran into these exact conditions Friday. Actually found fish just like I described in my first post, either channel swing banks, or the very shallow spots but very near quick drops. The lake was just drawn down 7' for winter, the rocks still looked wet it was so recent, but we still did pretty well.

Lake Baccarac Oct 2018 Part 2 (Video)
Nuts when a 6 3/4lb bass looks little. Jeff with the back to back DD's, wow, that's living right.

Do you fish jigs with spinning gear?
I pour some little 1/8, 3/16, and 1/4oz snootie jigs I'll fish on spinning gear and 8lb test. I actually use a M/F Okuma EVX.

My First 10lb Bass!
Geez, didn't you guys mommas ever tell you if you can't say nothing nice, don't say nothing at all? Guy caught a nice fish he's excited about, not one he's submitting for a record of some sort. LOCKDOWN!!

DOUBLE WHOPPER PLOPPER RIG
Yep, I thought we were talking about the actual double plopper, not the double plopper rig.

P-line CX Premium strength
I've had varied results with the CX premium. I really like the CXX though. It's super strong and abrasion resistant, quite a bit of memory if you get above 15lb but I use it for moving baits and swimbaits mainly so that's not an issue. It wouldn't be an issue if you're using it for a leader either.

DOUBLE WHOPPER PLOPPER RIG
Don't bend them, they're really hard to bend back into proper shape and they don't work right if they're not tuned just right.

How heavy is a KVD 8.0 magnum squrebill?
The 4.0 is 7/8oz, the 8.0 is 1 1/8oz.

The Big Swimbait Debate
They're a decent bait. Make sure you have the rod to throw it since they are nearly 5oz.

Question on landing fish w/jigs
They're likely ripping loose while they're pinned to the stems. You're just gonna lose some doing that, no way around it. Keeping them pinned is the best option imo.
- Finesse Jig rod?

Favorite cold water techniques
Jerkbait, if the water is dirty then I'd drag a jig or fish a single Colorado bladed spinnerbait, but I'd usually stay home over fishing cold, muddy water.

Lake Baccarac ~ Oct 2018 In-Sane ! Video Added
You guys killed them. I just need to win the lottery so I can make that trip with you (of course I'd have to play it first).

Fishing braid straight or with a leader
For you guys having a hard time breaking off if you get snagged with straight braid, I do one of two things. First is wrap the line several times around the handle of my pliers and pull hard, that's usually enough to break it, straighten the hook, or pull it loose. Second, wrap the line around the boat cleat and troll straight back from the snag. That one works every time if I have to resort to it.

Absolute deepest diving crankbait you’ve used and can confirm depth?
Mann's 30+ hitting bottom in 27'. The bait got there easily, but fishing it was anything but easy. The bill on the bait is about the size of my palm

The Big Swimbait Debate
I've fished the lower end baits like the S Waver and Savage Gear baits, and I've fished the Deps, Phoneys, and customs. The Savage Gear Shine Glide and MS Slammer are by far my most productive baits, neither are what I'd consider expensive swimbaits. The initial investment might seem a little high on a bait like a Slammer, but it's a big topwater that will catch hundreds of fish and is hard to lose unless you do something careless or lazy with it.

Jerkbaits with spinning tackle
8lb Abrasx, no braid. Never have any issues with loops.

The Road To The Super Bowl 2019
As many yards as the Chief's defense gives up, they've only given up more than 30 points twice this year while the offense has only been held to under 30 points once this year. Their 2 worse games were against Brady and Ben, which I don't think is any surprise. Their biggest issue is how bad they are against the run. Almost every game they've scored so many points that the other team hasn't had the option to run, minus both Broncos games which were the 2 closest games of the season that they came out on top. Goff doesn't worry me because he has a tendency to miss open receivers, but the fact that all he'll probably have to do is turn and give the ball to Gurly all day is what stinks. How a team can spend their entire draft on defense and actually get worse at it is beyond me. It should be an entertaining game. PMII should be close if not past the franchise record for TD's in a season (to give an idea of how historically bad the Chiefs are at picking QB's), so that could be some added excitement as well.

Go to tackle for never fished (personally) pond
Spinnerbait, topwater, and a T rig are pretty solid options for attacking a pond.

C-rigging a Frog
It's going to fill with water and sink eventually, along with the fact that it won't have much action. C-rigging a toad would make much more sense to me.

I think I'm done for the year
The older and crankier I get, the more I enjoy fishing during the winter when the fair weather fishermen and water fleas are nowhere to be found. Plus it seems every year for the last several years, I've caught my largest bass of the year in the months of January-March.

Best cold weather gloves
I've been happy with these ones. Pretty thin and lightweight, only exposed skin is the fingers that are really needed to be exposed. Really cheap too when it comes to fishing gloves. I've used them in subzero temps and haven't lost any digits yet. White River fingerless fleece gloves are another option that I really like and the price is right on them too.

Jackin or Jacking
I've heard of it being used for bedding fish with a heavy weight, never heard it called that though.
