  1. No but I've seen guys do it. I use the wild eyes a ton for wipers during the winter so they have their own purpose for me. They're a little heavier than what I like on a rig also.
  2. Rolling a tennis ball under my feet while sitting helped a ton. It took me almost a year to get to where I wasn't effected by it while walking and standing, especially at work or while fishing. I found some inserts for my work boots just for PF that seemed to help a lot too.
  3. Fished La Cygne both my days off this week. A guy could catch more white bass and (small) wipers than really necessary at the outlet right now. I quit after conservatively catching 40 Thursday to go in search of bass. Not many to be found, but the first bite was pretty much the bite I hope to get each time I go out there, 5.07 on a shakyhead, first big one on my Speed Demon shakyhead combo and it handled her like a champ. Got some great video of the fight, she was in a laydown when I set the hook and had to wrestle her out with 8lb test, then she went nuts when I got her out of the tree. Only about 5 bass total and only missed 1 other for sure bite. This is about as big of wiper as I caught either day, most are in the 18" range. Fun for awhile, but I get board catching them that size pretty quickly. Friday the water temps dropped 3-4 degrees overnight from the snow. The striped fish didn't care, green fish were even tougher. Lost a 3 pounder at the boat, broke off what felt like a heavy fish a few cast later, missed the next bite, had a little one shake off, then finally landed one. Probably not relevant anymore but Olathe was good last Tuesday. Had 2 solid keepers (over 18"), and a bunch of other fat, healthy fish. I was after wipers and didn't bring much bass gear, but I found a DT6 in a tree and tied it on MH Lightning Rod Shock with 15lb Pline that I was using for a jigging spoon and caught a bunch of fish on it. Cut the swimbait off my swimbait rod and tied on the only spinnerbait I had in the boat and although it was a bit clunky, I only missed 1 bite on it and certainly wasn't worried about getting broke off or being underpowered. Water was too warm for wipers to be in their usual winter spots, plus it was pretty dirty still.
  4. Caught a bunch of fish in the morning, went and tried to freeze to death in a tree in the afternoon. No deer, but watched a bunch of wood ducks fly into my pond 30 yards away, that was pretty cool.
  5. Keitech Fats or Rage Swimmers, Zoom swimming flukes in a pinch.
  6. Having plantar fasciitis in both my feet really makes standing all day painful at times. All my buddies make fun of my Crocs, they don't understand how bad that tendon can hurt. My elbows and shoulders can get pretty sore at times too, especially after a long weekend of fishing spinnerbaits or swimbaits, something with a lot of casting and reeling.
  7. I'm not sure what those dark and light spots are, but it's something to do with the camera and not the lake. I've seen similar things on lakes I've fished for years where there is nothing where those spots show up.
  8. Cabela's Guidewear suit. I don't think the discount is as good as when I worked there, it's more of a progressive thing that increases with years employed last I heard, but I'd still be all over buying a new one if I had the chance to get a good discount on one.
  9. Just imagining a lake with 300' of water is insane to me. A lot of our lakes don't have 30' of water
  10. I'll probably keep at it for a bit Snowed 3" Thursday while I was out, put 47 fish in the boat.
  11. It's a full inch per handle turn faster than the Shimano and noticeably faster in use than most other <$100 reels I've used. It's very connected feeling, no slop or play anywhere, which makes it very smooth and I'm sure probably also enhances the feeling of it being a faster reel. Just checking and it can still be found for around $75 pretty easily. Admittedly, I haven't had to shop for spinning reel for several years since I bought this one. Seems like most of them when I bought the Okuma were around the 24-26 IPT range. That Fuego LT looks really nice and is quite a bit faster still than the Okuma, but it's also a bit heavier if that means anything to the OP. My BIL has several of the the NASCIs. He loves them, but the times I've tried his I was not a fan. I'm a backreeler, they completely lost me when they took that feature away from their reels.
  12. I use mono or copolymer backing. I just save those spools that don't have enough to spool another reel to use for backing or leaders.
  13. The popping Pad Crasher is about the only frog I fish. I did catch quite a few on a Toadrunner this year too though.
  14. I have an Okuma RTX on my dropshot rod. It's very light and smooth. I really like that it has a faster retrieve than most reels in it's price range, which is great for bringing your bait up from deep water quickly. You can find them for well under 100 as well.
  15. I Google search bassresouce sign in on my work computer and it takes me straight to the sign in screen.
  16. Yes they are. Anytime you are wondering, I can see the stack from my house to tell if they're generating or not. I went there today, lots of whites and wipers, and a few bass including a 5 pounder.
  17. Can't remember where I saw it but from I believe the last 10 years drafts, the Raiders have the fewest players still playing in the NFL. Pretty bad considering how high they've been picking for the last 10 years.
  18. I'd love to try one but just can't convince myself there is any need to spend that much on a spinning reel with so many great value options out there.
  19. Welcome! Always nice to have another big bait fisherman on the board
  20. It's a great burner bait. Kind of a wake/spinnerbait replacement. I use it on f shallow points and flats for smallmouth and wipers, they crush it when they hit it.
  21. The ones I've caught found like very hard pulling, large bluegills. Very sporty little fish and much more wary than a bluegill.
  22. I haven't used the TCS spinning but I do have an EVX spinning rod that I love. It's very versatile rod. I've caught 2 over 6.5 on it this year and it handled both with ease. I'd have no doubt the TCS spinning rods are great quality as well.
  23. Welcome @GToms. Jump into that KC area thread and do some reading there, lots of good info. I'm about an hour south but have an empty seat pretty often if you ever get out during the week.
  24. I "lost" my favorite discontinued Excaliber Zell Pop a few years ago for several months. I'd fished it earlier in the day and taken it off and couldn't find it at the end of the day. It was really windy and the bait is light, I assumed it must have blown out at some point. I even posted in the KC thread that I'd pay someone if they found it and returned it, that bait has so much mojo. That was in the spring that year. Late in the summer when I was rummaging through my deep diving crankbait box that I rarely get into, there it was. No idea why I put it in there, but man I was glad to see it. Still have that bait and it's so chewed up it's a wonder it still floats.
