Spinnerbait Confidence (or lack thereof)
Spinnerbaits are a must have bait for me. The War Eagle Finesse spinnerbait catches more bass than any other other I've ever used in all conditions.

Fishing will probably be on hold for a while...
Congrats!

Matt lures u2 Gill or savage gear gill
I'm not sure the exact ROF but it's not a very fast sinking bait, I'd guess around a ROF 5 but it could be less.

Good decision, they're very different baits for different things. Mend it is a must for the Mattlures baits though.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
It says no fishing on those same little signs. I don't think there's any intention to enforce it though because they've been there for a couple years now. It's a city park, not sure how they can make it off limits to fishing anyways.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Yes there are, but they've been there for a couple years now. I think it's just a cover for the city in case any dummies ever decide to eat the fish out of there.

Did your boat ever get hit fishing
Was it another fisherman? I saw a boat run into another during tournament launch once. I've had mine bumped by guys following me on the water, but never run into hard enough to do damage, that sucks.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
I had a pretty good weekend this week. Started out with the wife at Doco, just enjoying a break from the extreme heat. Fish were hungry, weeds and water were nice, and I caught some big ugly thing with teeth. Had the Lone Star tournament that night. It's been beating Coty and I down the last few times so we were just shooting for 10 pounds, which we managed plus a little. Then I made my first trip of the year to Mound City. I have a love/hate relationship with that lake. I love the lake, I hate the roads getting to it. I suppose that's a big reason why it's still so good even though it's obviously getting more pressure than it used to. I got there late, but 5 boats on a lake that size is still a lot of pressure. It didn't seem to matter though, they bit early and often. No monsters, biggest 3 I weighed were 3lb 15oz, 4lb, and 4lb 7oz. I missed the first one when I forgot to restart the camera after just catching another fish. I got the 4 on video, and it was a good video, but it apparently didn't upload all the way like it said it did and I already deleted the video, but I did at least manage to get the biggest one of the day on camera. If I could have traded half of these things I caught on wobblers for bass the same size, it would have been a crazy day.

Best headwear
My buddy @basshunter0731 forgot his hat one day and had this in his truck.

Tight budget swimbait rod?
- Warning its gross, What happens when I forget sunscreen for 5 hours.
Irish, German, and Swedish blood means I get burned if the moon is too bright. A buff, hat, sun gloves, and long sleeve shirt is pretty much a must for me if I'm going to be in the sun all day. I was really surprised how much cooler I stay with the long shirt too. I'd suggest a nice, hot shower to make it feel better for now- First airbrushed baits
That's a heck of a good looking bait for a first attempt!- How would you fish this lake
Buzzbait, Spinnerbait, bladed jig, jigs.- Managing overpopulated bass
Eat them or find someone who wants to eat them and give them a fresh fish dinner. DO NOT MOVE THEM! Way too many Aquatic Nuisance Species out there to be moving fish around, it's very likely even illegal. We just had another lake here last week that they found zebra mussels in. I promise if you ask around a little you'll find someone to eat them.- High School Fishing Tips
You live on a lake with pretty good fishing, although not quite what it used to be but it seems to be coming back. That helps a lot to be able to be that close to a body of water you can practice techniques and learn on. Lots of business people live there too. I'd be doing some networking and seeing if anyone would be willing to sponsor your team.- High School Fishing Tips
- Garmin Fish Finder
I have a pair of Garmin 93SV (ecomap) on my Stratos. Ease of use was a big selling point for me with them. They've been great and have really helped me learn how to read my depthfinders, which has in turn made me a better fisherman.- Other Species Latest Catch Pics Thread
I was on a role Friday. Missed probably a half dozen more, all on my homemade bladed jigs.- Show off your Stuff
I think you'll like it, I like mine.- Casting Distance Question
Typically, short rods are what I consider "target" rods. They'll not designed for long distance casting, but rather for accuracy. I have that Avid, it's the best popper rod I've ever owned, and I also use it for small walking baits and jerkbaits.- Buzzbaits and trailers?
No trailer and no trailer hook on my buzzbaits. I use black 90% of the time, white 10%.- What color Silicone would you use to make this a swim Jig?
My last 3 fishingskirts.com orders were; $235.08 $273.80 $433.40 I have a problem.- What's your preferred line for fiberglass crankbait rods?
This.- Part One: Suggest A Topwater Lure
A buzzbait, black Cavitron specifically, is my favorite topwater. One I would suggest that I never hear talked about is the River2Sea Bubble Walker 80. Similar to the Megabass Popmax but much cheaper and is very easy to get to walk. What I don't suggest; putting topwater away just because the sun is getting higher in the sky.- High School Fishing Tips
Not any different than any other bass club, you're just younger. You have to sell yourself and your club to get sponsors. You'll probably be able to get more local support (smaller shops and not necessarily fishing related). Tournament techniques and everything remains the same. Do what you're good at during tournament time, that's not when you should be trying to learn something new. Bring what you need but don't go crazy with gear, it's easier to focus on the basics that way. Mainly, be thankful high school fishing is a thing now. I tried to start a team but was told by my high school admin that fishing wasn't a high school sport. - Warning its gross, What happens when I forget sunscreen for 5 hours.
