  1. parachute cord was the first thing that came to my mind as well.
  2. It always has been.
  3. I wouldn't want that fast of a reel for them but if it works for you then go for it.
  4. Rage Craws and Menace YUM Christie Craw and Craw Papi Havoc The Deuce Zman BatwingZ Uncle Josh pork frog
  5. Those people who say they don't like cats just haven't had them prepared right
  6. Very different actions, which is why I carry both.
  7. Looks like a grass carp to me also. If it is, they're very difficult to get to bite. I think I can see scales along the back but not positive. About the only other thing it could be is a big channel cat but scales would quickly eliminate that as an option since they don't have any.
  8. Welcome!
  9. Usually takes 3-5 days for it to get here for me.
  10. 40, the 30 is tiny, not much bigger than a baby 1-.
  11. Douglas County State Lake is your best option. Tons of bass and big bluegill and lots of bank access. Only 20 minutes from Gardner.
  12. Our bass don't get big but the 130 size works way better here. As long as your bass get to a couple pounds, they'll eat a 130.
  13. I like watching them at work to remember happier times. I use a Garmin Virb Elite with a suction mount that I put on my windshield in the boat. It works pretty well.
  14. I have some too
  15. I'm buying a house closer to all the lakes that I normally fish. It has a huge shop too, big enough for the boat AND the truck to be parked inside. That's sort of fishing related isn't it?
  16. That's probably about as good as you're going to do for a new one. You might be able to find a cheaper used one. Thinking about selling mine in fact.
  17. As was the world record from Elk City Reservoir in Kansas. A monstrous 123 pounder by Ken Paulie. http://www.in-fisherman.com/catfish/flathead-catfish/record-catfish-giant-flatheads/
  18. Not sure how much the wiggle but I know they catch plenty of fish.
  19. Ask your boater ahead of time what to bring if possible and bring plenty of gas money. No boater wants to get paired with the "I'll get you next time", guy. Bring up to 6 rods and the essentials for tackle. I use to carry a bag that held 6 3700 boxes and probably 2 dozen bags of plastics in standard colors and never felt like I was unprepared. Talk with your boater before take off on if they like their fish netted or if they want to swing them. Ask about if they care if you cast past the center line of the boat (a huge deal to a select few it seems). Some communication before take off can prevent a really long day on the water. I've been on both sides and it's usually a great time.
  20. I wouldn't. Not so much the digging in that I'd be worried about, but the durability. I have 24lb on a couple spinning combos (thinner than 5lb mono), and it's great for long distance casting and open water techniques. It frays very easily if it gets around cover though, which is pretty much the only reason I'd want braid on a casting rod. I don't think they have different formulas for casting and spinning but I could be wrong.
  21. I would not suggest Gliss for casting gear. I've never tried the other line.
  22. What would have been the Arkansas record was caught on a Zebco a few years ago had the guy had a fishing license like he was supposed to.
  23. Fast with a good drag is main things I'm interested in. Currently using a BPS Titanium 8 in the 8.1 ratio and like it really well so far.
  24. I'm not sure what "glow" you're getting from SpikeIt? I don't think they're probably smelling the garlic on that moving crankbait, but if it gives you confidence in it you'll fish it harder and with more concentration, and that does catch more fish for sure.
